Hello hello hello everyone... This month, Joy Clair is collaborating with Image Crafts. Both of the design teams are sharing projects featuring the amazing products from each company! And today, it is my turn.

We give thanks to the LORD for things that we receive and happen in our life in each day. The month of November has become one of the special months for our family when every day we will re-think all the blessings that we have received all year long and give thanks to the LORD for His faithfulness in our life.

My project today is a clean-and-simple, Thanksgiving theme card using Joy Clair stamp sets and Imagine Crafts products.

I use the embossing resist technique to create the background. So, I started by adding anti-static powder on the watercolor paper. After that, I stamped the Falling Leaves Background Stamp with VersaMark Ink Pad using my MISTI.

Next, I sprinkled some of the Sparkle Mboss Embossing Powder on the stamped image and then I heat set it with my craft heater.

I scribbled some of the Red Cherry Gelatos, Tangerine Gelatos and Lemon Gelatos on the paper. I sprayed it lightly with water, and then using my finger to blend the colors. I used paper towel to dab off some the extra water from the paper.

After that, I dried the paper with craft heater and then using baby wipe I wiped off the colors from the embossed image to reveal the sparkles on it.

I trimmed the paper with paper trimmer and then I added on top of a kraft card base with Tombow permanent adhesive.

For the sentiment, I stamped the word Grateful, Thankful, Blessed from the Thankful and Blessed Stamp Set on a white cardstock with VersaFine Clair Pinecone Ink Pad.

I trimmed each word into word strip banner and then I added them on the card with 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

In "Feast Mode" with Joy Clair & Imagine Crafts

Hi, Connie here with Joy Clair and Imagine Crafts.  It is November (can't believe it) but that means Turkey!!! Joy Clair has the cutest stamp set called Turkey Talk and that is what I created with along with some great products by Imagine Crafts.

The background, for the card, was created using the Falling Leaves Background stamp by Joy Clair.  Each of the leaves were colored in with several different fall colors of Distress Oxide inks.  The Turkey was stamped out on a mix media type background created with watered down Distress Oxide inks.  The Turkey was trimmed out and then double matted on a background created using the Broken Brick Background by Joy Clair.  The size is about 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" .  Twine was wrapped around the bottom of the turkey and then adhered to the card front with dimensional adhesive.  All the stamping was done with Versa Fine Clair / Nocturne ink by Imagine Crafts.  The black splats are created with the irRESISTible Embellisher/Tuxedo Black by Imagine Crafts. 

To complete the double mat the turkey focal in the center of the card.  Double mat on coordinating cardstock and adhere to a folded card.  This is such a fun set and has so many possibilities for creating cute "Thanksgiving" cards or place sitting cards for the special day.

Joy Clair and Leisure Arts | Fun Watercoloring

Hello crafty friends... Helen is here today with couple ideas how to create fun watercolored backgrounds using Leisure Arts Double Ended Markers and Joy Clair stamps. Watercoloring is one of my favorite technique.

First project, I used the Wish Big stamp se for these clean-and-simple cards. 

First fun watercoloring technique is smooshing. It very simple and quick way to create watercolored background  with these markers.

Simply scribble the markers on a palette board, or craft mat, spray with water, and smoosh the watercolor paper on the paint. Gently press the paper to the paint with your fingers and lift it up.

To build up more layers of colors and texture, you can dry the paint every time you smoosh it in the paint.

On both of my CAS cards above, I pick cool color combo. After creating the watercolor backgrounds, I dried it completely with craft heater.

For the square background, I stamped the images with VersaMark ink pad and sprinkled with some white embossing powder. Then, I used my craft heater to melt the embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink pad, and then I cut it with Square die.

And for the circle background, I stamped the image with VersaFine Clair Verdant ink pad, dried with craft heater, and then I cut it with circle die.

I stamped the sentiments with VersaFine Clair Nocturne and Green Oasis.

My second project is this Psalms 122 Bible Journaling. This time I used the plastic bag for creating the watercolored background.

For this technique, you can use any plastic bag you have such as ziplock bag, stamp bag, pocket bag, or photo sleeve. The point is you have a clear plastic surface that is not sturdy where you can scribble the markers and stamp it on the page. Laminated pocket or blending palate will not work well with this technique.

I used photo sleeve this time. I tried ziplock bag and stamp bag once and they worked great. So, I scribbled the red and yellow markers on the plastic sleeve, sprayed it with water, and gently picked it up and then laid it on top of the Bible journaling page. It is kindda stamping with that watercolor paint and plastic bag.

With very gentle motion, I blended the colors with my finger. I repeated these steps 4 times until the page covered with the colors. I ended up with red, yellow and orange colors on this page.

I dried the page with craft heater and then I added a piece of baking sheet on top of the page and ironed the page with my mini craft iron to flatten the page.

I stamped the church image from the Gather Together stamp set on a watercolor cardstock with VersaFine Pinecone, dried it with craft heater, and then I colored it with the Leisure Arts Double Ended Markers and waterbrush. I dried the image with craft heater and then fussy cut it with fine tip scissors. I added the image on the page with dries-clear adhesive glue.

I added some white acrylic splatters on the page with white acrylic spray and waterbrush, and then I dabbed some off with paper towel to soften it.

I stamped the sentiments from the Gather Together stamp sett with VersaMagic Tea Leave, stamped the hearts from with VersaMagic Hint of Pesto, and stamped the word "Scripture" and "Prayer" with VersaMagic Red Magic.

And then I wrote my journaling using the fine pen from the Leisure Arts Hand Letter Set. This pen won’t bleed through the page and writes smoothly on watercolored background.

Fall, Family & Football with Joy Clair and Leisure Arts~

Hi, Connie here with a set of cards created using the newly released set by Joy Clair called Fall, Family & Football and dual tip markers by Leisure Arts. Fun stuff right here.  Who doesn't love fall, family and football~we love em' all!  Just still waiting for the fall thing to happen here in Texas~

These cards were created by using the markers as a mixed media type ink.  I scribbled the ink on a non stick mat and added a small amount of water and dabbed the ink on the watercolor  paper.  I dried the paper with a heat tool after each color.  I just kept layering colors (from the markers) until I got a fallish mix of color. Something a cool November day would be proud of.  The images form the Fall, family & Football stamp set were stamped out and colored in with the dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.

The images were adhered to the card front with Dimensional adhesive and then double matted on coordinating cardstock.  The cards are 3" X 4" /small great for gift bags are football goodies!  

The second card is created using the same technique except I used Distress Oxides inks instead of the dual tip markers.  The background was created the same.  The images were water colored with Distress Oxide ink.  The images were adhered to the card front with dimensional adhesive/foam squares. The card front was double matted on coordinating cardstock and then adhered to a folded card.  This is a 3" X 3" card so it is perfect for a gift bag or used as a card on some game day treats!

Hello everyone!

It's Donna here sharing newly released stamp sets called Hope. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This set is a great set to create a card to send to someone for encouragement.  There are great sentiments and images in this set that you will definitely use over and over again.

 

This month the design team is using Leisure Arts products. I am using the Double Ended Markers to color the ribbon.  My card is a tall card, I stamped the images and sentiment from the Hope stamp set and then die cut them out with a square die and adhered it to my card.

Using Words and images together

Welcome to today's blog post. Today I am sharing a quick and easy way of using your scraps. I often have piece of cardstock where I test ink colours and effects on. These then become card backgrounds or I use them on my layouts cut into tags and even die-cut shapes out of them. Today I am showing you how I use it as a quick card background.

For this card I am using two stamp sets combined Gather Together and Fall Greetings

I used a test piece of cardstock that was embossed and then color added over the embossing. I then cut it into smaller pieces and this piece was left-over. Some nice color on the one side and clean and simple on the other. I stamped my sentiment from the Gather Together set in the top right hand corner, and then a leaf from the Fall Greetings set. The leaves are colour with my markers.

Some ink and paint splats finishes off this Clean and Simple card using these sets combined for a gorgeous look. Nothing ever gets wasted and even a piece that looks ugly can be turned into a gorgeous card.

Joy Clair and Leisure Arts | More Card Ideas For Her

Hello crafty friends... Hope you all are well! Today I have couple more card ideas for her that you can make and send out to your friends to cheer them up and to lift them up.

October is Cancer Awareness Month. Joy Clair released a new stamp set, Hope. This stamp set is dedicated for those who are fighting the cancer. I love this stamp set. The sentiments are very uplifting and encouraging, especially the Bible Verses. The ribbon and gloves are just perfect!

I stamped the Broken Brick Background Stamp on a light pink cardstock with White Unicorn Pigment Ink Pad and Mini MISTI. After that, I dried the ink with craft heater and trimmed it slightly smaller than the card base. I added it on the hot pink card with E-Z Runner Gran Adhesive.

I stamped the gloves and sentiment on a piece of white cardstock with VersaFine Clair Charming Pink Ink Pad and Mini MISTI. I dried the stamped image and sentiment with craft heater. I fussy cut the gloves with my fine point scissors and I trimmed the sentiment into sentiment label.

I added the gloves on the top left corner card and the sentiment at the bottom right cornet with 3D tape. I tied up some of the natural twine around the top, made a bow and glued it with some permanent glue adhesive.

My second card is created using one of the newest stamp set also called Mermaid At Heart. I paired it up with the Mermaid Tail Background Stamp.

This stamp set describes my two girls who are mermaid at heart. They love water and swimming in any season! I am thankful for them...

I started with creating the watercolored background using Leisure Arts Double Ended Markers and water. I used smooshing technique. I scribbled the markers on a craft mat and sprayed some water that turn the marker color into watercolor paint. I added the watercolor paper in it and smooshed around. I dried it with craft heater and then did it the same step to build up the colors.

After that, I stamped the Mermaid Tail Background on it with VersaFine Clair Warm Breeze ink pad and MISTI. And then, I stamped the sea plant image with VersaFine Clair Green Oasis using second generation stamping technique. I added the background panel on a white card with E-Z Runner Grand. 

Using the same smooshing technique, I created another watercolored background with Leisure Arts Double Ended Markers and water. This time I tried to create sort of mermaid color combo with blue, teal and purple markers. After I dried the watercolored background, I stamped the mermaid tail image with Fantasia VersaFine Clair and then fussy cut it. I stamped the sentiment with Purple Delight VersaFine Clair ink pad and then fussy cut it, too.

I cut out a piece of light blue cardstock with Rectangles Dies to create the frame. I added on the card with permanent adhesive glue. And then I added both mermaid tail and sentiment with 3D foam tape. I embellished the card with some clear dots.

I hope these cards give you more ideas what to make for your friends and family. 

Easy technique to color with Leisure Art Markers

Today I want to share an easy and quick bible journaling page that I made using on of the Gather Together  stamp set by Color by Faith from Joy Clair and colored with the Double Ended Markers from Leisure Arts.

I have a package of 60 color Double Ended Markers from Leisure Arts. They are good to color over coloring books or hard paper surfaces but for the bible paper they are very strong hindering the mixture of colors. This does not mean that you can not use them, you can use and enjoy your markers, just taking care of your paper and combinations.

PROCESS:

The first thing that I made, was stamp the images from the stamp set Gather Together onto my Bible with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then, here is technique, I colored my craft mat with my selection of colors from the Leisure Arts Double Ended Markers.

I colored the mat color by color and with a blender pen, I took the ink from the mat and transferred it to my design on the bible journaling. It let me to mix the colors and gave a soft touch, just like the paper requires.

The process was consuming time but I enjoy my time making this bible journaling page. At the end, I enhanced some details of my coloring using the Watercolor Pencils from Leisure Arts. Also, using this technique I got the control of the colors/ink.

You rock with Joy Clair~

Hi, Connie here with some cards using the newly released stamp sets by Joy Clair called Crystal Background and You're A Gem.  These sets were made to go together and have a ton of sparkle potential.  

The same unique, pretty crystal stones were used in both sets and ready to be all glittered up.  We are also creating with some crazy cool dual tip markers  by Leisure Arts.

My first card is using the dual tip markers to create a multi colored background for the gem stones. 

The markers were scribbled on a non stick surface and sprayed with a small amount of water.  The paper (mixed media) was dabbed in the ink from the markers.  I kept adding different colors, drying with a heat tool after each color.  Once the background was created stencils were added for dimension and interest.  The gem stones were stamped out and dabbed with ink from the markers.  The cut out gemstone images were glazed with a glitter pen an adhered to the card front.  The sentiment was added along with some small clear rhinestones. The card front was matted on  gray cardstock and then a folded card.

Both these cards are created using the same techniques.  The images are stamped out on backgrounds created using the dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.  The stencil work is giving the impression of negative verses positive impression but actually it is a dark plum ink on light paper and then dark paper.  The gemstone images were cut out and glittered with the Wink Of Stella pen/clear, giving the gemstones the sparkle that we all love.  The sentiments were stamped out and added to each card. The cards were speckled with black ink (first card) and white ink (second card).  To complete the cards, the card fronts were adhered to a folded card.

Rest & Relax with Joy Clair's Shadow of the Almighty

Hello and welcome!

 

It's Ange here today with a card featuring the new stamp set called:  Shadow of the Almighty.  It's one the new Color by Faith series stamp sets released at the end of last month.

This set is perfect for Bible journaling and card making as well as scrapbooking.  So many possibilities with the images and sentiments.  I wanted to send a card to a friend who has been really stressed out lately and wishing she could go on vacation.   I wanted her to send her this beach scene to let her know I was thinking of her, and what better way than to send a card!
