Every year Joy Clair Stamps celebrates Christmas in July. It's a great reminder that we are, now, over halfway through the year! It is absolutely crazy how time flies!! Today, I have a very "sweet" Christmas card to share with you and give you a little inspiration for this year's holiday season. You can watch all the details in the video tutorial down below!
I did all of my die cutting first for this card because I would be stamping on a die cut. I die cut a stitched regular rectangle from white card stock and larger scalloped stitched rectangle to mat with - from kraft. Then, on the white rectangle I started stamping using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. Starting with the "Holiday Cheer" stamp from the 3D Poinsettia I stamped it in the center, then masked it with a mask I made from Inkadinkado masking paper. Using the same ink, but the cookie stamp from the Christmas Cocoa stamp set, I started filling the remain space with the cookie stamp.
With the panel stamped out I removed the masking paper from the sentiment and after letting the ink dry, I started coloring. I used the Leisure Arts Colored Pencils. This entire panel only used 6 - yes SIX - colors!! That is what I LOVE about OMS. You can blend one color and end up with three different colors, shading and highlights, it's soo incredibly easy! Be sure to watch the video tutorial for the full run down on all the coloring!
After attaching all the layers with double sided adhesive to the front of an A2 side folding card base, I worked on the inside of the card. I, again, used the Christmas Cocoa stamp set to stamp the inside of the card very quickly and then more colored pencil coloring to color the images. SUPER SIMPLE!!
Be sure and come back all week for all kinds of Christmas inspiration as the entire DT shares some amazing projects! And if you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my card today, you can find them all linked down below. As always, Happy Crafting!!
