Stamps & Foiled Paper - Mother Pearl Technique

Today I am featuring Mother Pearl Technique & Foiled Paper in a very cute Bookmarks that I made using one of the new stamp sets of Joy Clair and Rinea Foiled Paper.  This month we have a special collaboration between this two brands and I decided to make something special, like they are for me.

I used a very old technique knows as Mother Pearl and some die cuts to create the pieces of the book mark. If you noticed it is a combination of two ends that you can use to separate the pages on your books. You only need to tie both pieces and determinate the long of the thread. I used natural/gold thread.

Directions:

I die cut a whisper white pieces of cardstock using the the large die cut from the Anastasia Tag Die by WPlus9.  Using my Misti, I stamped different images from the stamp set Deer Friends using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Studio 71 Alcohol Markers.

Taking a piece of plastic wrap and All Purpose Ink in Metallic Frost White color and inked the plastic wrap directly and "sponged" the ink over the painted images and all the surface. I left the inked layer dry for a few seconds and let a side in a while.

To complete the project, I cut the same layer using the colors of foiled paper included on the Princess Foiled Paper Variety Pack , I used the Glossy Lavender Light Purple/Gold and after cut the large die cut. I cut two pieces but only in one, I cut the center with another oval included on the Anastasia Tag Die. With the negative part and a small die cut I created the frame for the other end of my book mark. All these parts were cut with the same set of die cuts.

I repeated the technique process to stamp the complement sentiment and and assembled all the  Glossy Lavender Light Purple/Gold Rinea Foiled Paper pieces using glue. At the end, I tied the two mini tags with a natural/gold thread.

Here second project that I made with the same process. At this time I only changed the colors of Rinea Foiled Paper and used Starstruck Silver Foiled Paper. This color is also included on the Princes Foiled Paper Variety Pack.

Special tip:

You can also take advantage of the different sizes of foiled paper available on Rinea Shop or the single color packages to create this type of projects. And remember, if you have a “mass production” you can also use the new Misfits Foiled Paper Variety Packages. Many Names Card by Martha Lucia

Hello everyone! Martha Lucia here with you!

Today I am featuring the Many Names stamp set from Joy Clair. It is part of the Color by Faith Collection that can be used on cards or bible journaling.

I started by arrange the image over a decorated paper layer. The size of this is 4"x5-1/4". I inked all the images with VersaFine Clair Nocturne on my stamparatus and stamped all at the same time. Then I embossed the complete layer with clear embossing powder.

I cut a card base on So Saffron cardstock and pasted a Wisteria Wonder layer directly over the card base. I also pasted the stamped layer and prepared a mix of Fireworks to coloring some details of the names. I used Fireworks in two colors, Lilac Posies and Bahama Blue. I applied the colors with a paint brush.

To decorate the card I cut a circle in watercolor paper using one of the dies from Circle Collection and then I stamped one of the names included on the stamp set Many Names over a piece of watercolor paper using VersaMagic Cloud White and white embossing powder.

I mixed the same two colors of fireworks with Ink Potion No. 9 and damp the embossed image over the mix to have a complete coverage of the circle.

Using the same collection of circle die cuts and cardstock I created the mats for the stamped image and pasted it with dimensional over the card.

 Also, I added some gold sequins with On Point Glue and finalized the card.

Sky is the limit with Joy Clair

Today I'm using Life's a Breeze from the new Joy Clair release.  I love the images in this set and that you get two sizes of the kites is great! I like how simple this card was to put together. Even though the bottom layer is busy, coloring in the top panel only gives a nice focal point. 

I started by adding my smaller images to a block. I stamped the three small kite images and sun with VersaFine turning my block around to change where the images stamped. Then I layered my stamped back ground on a black cardbase.   

 Then I stamped a large kite on a smaller panel and created a scene using the sun from Life's a Breeze and the clouds from Get Well Wishes. I then colored my kite and the sun with Copics after the VersaFine was dry. Layered the small panel on some black cardstock before adhering to my cardbase. 

 I've also been playing with some VersaFine Clair inks. I decided to see how they stamped on a cork coaster.  I grabbed another Joy Clair set Inspirational Arrows and stamped them using Warm Breeze, Green Oasis and Morning Mist. I love how the colors look on the cork. I tried to use Verdant, but the color didn't show well enough so I stamped it again with the darker green. 

I will mention I haven't tried using this coaster to much yet. After a couple of hours I did set a water bottle on it with no bleeding. I still want to see how it handle a glass of ice water once it starts sweating to see if there are any problems. If it works well, I plan to stamp more of these cork coasters in the future!

Joy Clair "Many Names" Stamp Set

Hi, Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place here with a fun card using the new Joy Clair, "Many Names" stamp set as well as the new "Broken Brick Background" stamp set from the latest release. I also used some great black ink by Imagine Crafts with some of their wonderful embossing powder.

 

• I took a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of red card stock and very cut off about 1/8 on two adjacent sides. Then I stamped the "Broken Brick Background" stamp with white ink. I then aged some of the bricks with a red colored pencil and then added some distress marks with a black colored pencil. For more added detail I used some red stamping ink to blend the edges and added some patches in some spots. This is helpful to add interest and some details to the card so it doesn't look like a flat, boring card. 

• Next, I stamped some of the word stamps from "Many Names" around on the brick wall to represent some graffiti. I did not want them to be straight, just stamp them where-ever. (It is kinda fun to be able to stamp without positioning or worrying about getting a word straight.)
• I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink from Imagine Crafts. I love this ink because it stamps beautifully and the coverage is wonderful! I only have to stamp images ONCE!!
• After I stamped all the words I used some watered down white paint to add some splotches for just a little more interest.   At this point the card front is complete. Set it aside to dry.
• I took a A2 size black card base and scored the front of the card down the middle, across the horizon. I then mounted my dried red wall onto a piece of black card stock measuring 4.25 x 5.5 and attached it to the bottom portion of the card from below the score line. Do not glue above the score line. This makes an easel card.

• To make your easel card stand up, I stamped my sentiment from "Chain Breaker" onto some black scrap cardstock and embossed it with some white embossing powder by Imagine Crafts  and heated it up with my heat gun and cut it out. I popped it up on some foam tape to hold my card front up to form the easel part of my card.
• Lastly, I added some decorative dots with some liquid paint and I was done!

Manna from Heaven by Martha Lucia

Hello everyone! Martha Lucia here with you.

Today I am featuring a stamp set from Joy Clair and the fabulous Inks from Imagine, Manna from Heaven Card.

The base of my card is Crumb Cake card stock and if you are a frequently reader and visitor of my projects you are noticed that on this card I used several layesr... not typical on my creations.

I started stamping the can soup from the Manna from Heaven stamp set over a whisper white piece of card stock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, my new favorite black ink. I embossed the image with clear embossing powder and colored part of it with a Memento Markerers before to fussy cut with my scissors.

I continue the process taking a piece of watercolor paper and stamped over it one of the sentiments included on the Manna from Heaven stamp set using the same VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. I embossed this image too with clear embossing powder.

Then to create the watercolor effect I used Memento Ink in two different colors, Desert Sabd abd Lady Bug, combined with Ink Potion No. 9 to mix and dilute the inks. First I applied water over the watercolor paper with a paint brush and then directly with the ink pads applied the color over my mat and sprayed the ink with Ink Potion No. 9 to obtain the watercolor effect.

To speed the process I dried the paper with my heat tool but if you want you can let the paper dry naturally. I decorated this layer with a die cut on top with the Papertrey Ink Strip Stitched Die and put in place all the layers that I wanted to use on this card secured them with a staple. The additional layers are decorated papers from Quick Quotes Scrapbook.

I pasted the layers and can over the card using dimensionals or double sided foam tape.

As final touch I splatted the card with Fireworks Dandelion.

A Fun Manly Card Classic Father's Day

Hi! Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place here to show you a fun manly card you can use for birthdays, retirement or just a hello!

Joy Clair has come out with 12 new stamps sets! Check out all the great stamps HERE!! Today I will be using a few stamp sets to make my card. I made a manly card and love how it turned out! These stamps are awesome for making men cards which we all know are very hard to do. 

 

 

I started with a card base that is A2 or 4.25 x 5.5 inch. I covered it with some striped patterned paper. I then cut my image paper to 4.25 x 3 inches. I stamped the car image from the new set: Classic Father's Day with VersaFine Clair Nocturne. I colored the image with Leisure Arts Premium Colored Pencils. Then I stamped the same car image on some sticky paper and cut it out. I used this "mask" to cover my stamped and colored car and began to stamp the background. I used the new: Joy Clair Crackle Background with some light beige ink to stamp right over the masked card. I then re-inked the same Crackle Background stamp and turned it upside down and re-stamped with a darker brown ink. I then used a sponge to sponge some of the dark ink around the edges of that same panel to make it look a bit more aged.

To add some dimension I also added some Glossy Accents over the car to make it shinny and raised.

When it dried I layered it with some black and red cardstock and added a few die cuts and the front of my card was done! On to the inside....

I used 2 different Joy Clair Stamp sets to do my sentiment. I decided to make it a Father's Day card but you can make it for any occasion just changing the sentiment.  I used  "Many Names and Classic Father's Day" to piece together my fun sentiment. I used my Versafine Clair Nocturne for this stamping also.  That's it for now!

Fly Away with Me

Hi there! Today I have a Clear & Simple card that I made using the stamp set Fly with Me from Joy Clair Stamps. This is one of the most beautiful stamp sets, and I'm ready to show you another way to use it.

The base of my card is Very Vanilla card stock and I cut a second layer using the same color of card stock. Over the card base I stamped, on the center, one of the sentiments included on the stamp set Fly with Me, using VersaFine Clair Pinecone and clear embossing powder.

Then I cut with a circle die, the center of the second layer, exactly in the same position of the card base stamped image to create a window on it.

I temporarily placed the second layer over the card base and I stamped the complement of the main sentiment. This is also included on the stamp set Fly with Me, and I used the same ink and embossing process, VersaFine Clair Pinecone and clear embossing powder.

Before permanently pasting the second layer I stamped around of the window circle the two birds included on the stamp set Fly with Me using other tones of VersaFine Clair. I used Warm Breeze, Cheerful and Verdant.

I pasted the second layer to the card base using double sided foam tape or Foam adhesives strips, to give a different heights to this layer. As final touch I added some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops. I used Glossy White, Dandelion Yellow, Caribbean Ocean and Crushed Grape.

With this idea you have more inspiration to stretch your stamps and personalize only with colors! Easy and quick! See you soon!!!
