Hello there Joy Clair friends! It's Kerry here and I'm back to wish Joy Clair a Happy 5th Birthday! Woo hoo!! All this month we're celebrating and sharing some of our most favorite stamp sets and sets that make us SMILE! For my first share of the month, I thought I'd pull out one of the cutest multi-purpose sets in the collection. While I'm not much of a beach lover (I just can't stand the salty skin or burning eyes), I do seem to gravitate to some good beachy images. This set in particular is full of adorable creatures and added items for embellishing fun layered cards. I especially love the smiley jellyfish!
To create my card, I pulled out the Whale, Hello There set and started inking up the images. I chose the narwal and the jellyfish as well as some seagrasses and the cute little shells. I colored them with a light touch of color and fussy cut them to set them aside while I worked on the background panel.
I wanted my background panel to be magical so I incorporated a rainbow of colored scraps of cardstock. I then attached these rainbow strips to a piece of white cardstock making sure to stagger the border a bit. I then attached the whole panel to a kraft card base. Next, I attached a circle diecut and started assembling my "scene". When I was satisfied with the layout, I popped each image up on foam squares and secured them onto the panel. To finish my card off, I stamped the sentiment onto a little banner piece of cardstock and tucked it into the card in a perfectly perfect spot.
Thanks so much for hopping over and checking out my card. I hope this project inspires you and I hope you join me in wishing Joy Clair many more happy birthdays to come! Your support and purchases ensure that this little gem of a stamp company continues on for a LONG TIME! See you again later this month with another fun creation!
