Have you played with all the class in a box type kits that companies are coming out with? Basically you get to learn a technique without having to take a class. You just have to pick up the kit and follow directions! These are some of my favorite things to play with because I can get a taste of products and how to use them without fully committing to them. One of the drawbacks is you don't finish a project -- you just learn a technique. As artists we don't like to throw anything away and try to work everything into our art. Today I want to show you how I used the Faber Castell Abstract Art kit to create a mini art journal utilizing the Girlboss stamp set and Rita Barakat die cuts.
My favorite technique in the kit was using the gelatos as watercolors on a gold foiled embossed page that I added a rub on to.
How cool is that? I would have never thought to add a rub on over a gold foiled embossed image AND watercolor on it! Here is the rest of the book!
The sentiments from the Girl Boss Stamp were the perfect finishing touch to each of these pages. Not only was it a blast to create these project pages and learn a new technique I also have a sassy little complete art journal! What technique would you like to learn? Is there a product you have been curious to learn? Have you tried these types of kits? Did you like them? Please answer in the comments! We would love to know!
Until next time ~ Happy Crafting!
