I am super excited that Joy Clair is teaming up with Clear Scraps this week to share some fun and innovative projects! I have a bit of a different (for me) project to share with you all. I made a wooden sign that has some fun stamping and stenciling. And this was all super easy and took less than an hour because I used a pre-made sign and Joy Clair's amazing new stamp set Saved by Grace. You can watch the video tutorial down below to see exactly how I put this sign together!
First, I started with the Square Wood Pallet sign and gave it a few coats of gray paint. I used a foam brush for this. And I do want to mention, while I used the Square sign, these come in all shapes and sizes, so be sure to check them all out! After the paint had dried it was time to start stamping! The large flowers included in the Saved by Grace stamp set were perfect to tuck into the corners of this sign. I used Staz On Pigment ink in Pink Cosmos and Shamrock Green to stamp little clusters of flowers and leaves in the top right and bottom left corners of the sign.
After the stamping, the final step in making this simple sign is stenciling the "dream BIG" words in the center of the sign. I used a large home decor stencil for this and black acrylic paint. The best way I have found to put paint through the stencil is in very thin coats with a make up sponge. I do a few layers, but the thinner layers ensure I don't have any bleeding.
Be sure to check back often to the blog! There are so many fabulous projects for this collaboration and you won't want to miss any of them. If you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my project today, they're listed and linked down below. Until next time, happy crafting!!
How fun!! And what a great sign for any room.
