Hello everyone... This week, Joy Clair design team is collaborating with Clear Scraps design team showcasing both companies products. Today, I have two projects to share with you all.
My first project today is this personalized birch wood phone stand.
When I saw what they sent me, I know exactly that I had to do wood-burning on it. I love working with wood. Today, I use this beautiful Scallop Wood Phone Stand, Bandana Bits Clear Stamps, and Call On The Lord Clear Stamps.
I stamped directly on the wood using my MISTI. I removed the foam pad and put the wood directly on the stamping platform. I hold the wood with 2 magnet bars. But I think the circle magnets will work, too. Just make sure it fits at that corner.
I stamped the wood with the corner image from the Bandana Bits Clear Stamps using StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad. I cleaned the stamp with StazOn cleaner, dried it, and then positioned it again to stamp and the bottom corner of the wood.
Then I stamped the sentiment from the Call On The Lord Clear Stamps. This step is a little bit tricky. The length of the stamp is overlapping with the bottom image, so I stamp the sentiment in 2 part. First part, I covered the bottom of of the stamp with tape, added ink, and then stamp. After that, I moved the stamp slightly to the left and then stamp the bottom part of the stamp.
The StazOn ink dried pretty quickly. You can leave as is, because it is pretty already, or you can continue to this next step: Wood Burning.
I pre-heated my wood-burning tool when I was stamping the wood. I did a very simple wood-burning technique on this wood.
I started making dots round the edge of the wood with wood-burning tool. The size of the dot is depend on how long the wood-burning tool make contact with the wood. The longer, the bigger and deeper the dot marks.
I did the burning at all the edges of both piece of the phone stand. I decided to leave the stamped images and sentiment as is. Here's how the look after the wood-burning.
I love it so much and I have it on my craft table to put my phone while I am crafting. Also, the sentiment is always a great reminder to call upon the LORD at any time.
My second project is this Paws Birch Wood Card that I turned it into a mini album. I started with tracing the wood on the scrapbook paper with pencil and fussy cut them with scissors. I did it for both front and back wood.
I applied some of Beacon Fast Finish Decoupage Glue on the back of the scrapbook paper and then I added it on the wood surface. I smoothed gently it with the foam brush and then applied another thin layer on top of the paper. Set aside to dry completely.
I used the Dog Gone Christmas Clear Stamps to decorate the front album. I stamped the dog, dog house and the bone from on a watercolor paper with VersaFine Onyx Black. And then, I colored them with Staedler Watercolor Markers and water brush. I fussy cut them with scissors.
I cut another christmas scrapbook paper with the Double Stitched Stars Dies and I added it on the album. And then I added the dog, dog house, and bone on the album with dries-clear adhesive glue.
I hope you all like this project today. Don't forget to check all the team projects at both Joy Clair Blog and Clear Scraps Blog for more amazing inspirations!
