All About Ink Smooshing with Joy Clair Stamps + A Video Tutorial

Hi everyone! It's Lindsay here with you today, sharing another video tutorial and this time it's full of everything you need to know about ink smooshing and so many different card examples using many different Joy Clair Stamps sets! Be sure to watch the full tutorial down below for ALL the information!!

 

My first card was done with plain old smooshing with ink. I used Distress Inks, however you could use any water based ink or water based markers even! I did a test by smooshing on both water color paper and regular card stock to show you the difference between the two! I ended up using the regular card stock panel as my background with the Good Vibes stamp set as my main focal point and background. 

My second project is a fun one! I used the Crackle Background stamp to heat emboss and create a fun resist. For this background I did use my Distress Inks, but went with a rainbow color palette and kept them more separate. I added a thin sentiment strip to finish off the front of the card!

On my third card I did something completely different! I used the back of my stamps to color in a stamped image, specifically flowers from the Spring Flowers stamp set. Again, I used ink smooshing, but I used watercolor markers instead of inks this time. The watercolor markers allowed me to blend a few different colors on the back of the stamp for a fun multi color look without a lot of effort or contaminating my ink pads. I finished this card with a quick background using the Broken Brick Background stamp set and a sentiment from Hello Sentiments.

Finally, on my third card I used liquid watercolor! This is something fun to use if you want a really vibrant background. Again, I test this on both regular cardstock and watercolor paper to see the difference between using the two. I went with the regular card stock background and added the Broken Brick Background over the smooshing for a fun look! I also used the Good Vibes stamp set again. I think this would make a fun 16th birthday card!

I should mention that on each of these cards I mat my panel with Kraft and Black cardstock, this is something I do on almost every card I make. I am using the Bazzill Basics cardstock for all of my mats today! It is the perfect weight for matting and cuts beautifully! Coffee Talk

Hello friends! 

 

It's Designer Jessica here today with a fun themed coffee card!  For this card, I'm using the Coffee Talk stamp set. We are also cross promoting with the amazing Bazzill Paper this month - you are going to love all their beautiful papers! This stamp set is so much fun to play with!  You have lots of image choices, such as - latte foam designs, wordplay and more!  

 

I embossed the coffee cup image using SNS Nautical Embossing Powder and Versamark Ink. 

 

The cardstock I used was a really beautiful indigo cardstock with a gold foil swirl. The base was offwhite cardstock. You will love the crisp solid core of these cardstocks - they are truly wonderful to work with.  A strip of heart embossed white cardstock was added across the center panel to give a little accent. 

 

My embellishment choices were simple - Nuvo Gold Glitter Drops and some gold organza ribbon.

 

 

I hope you enjoy this card - coffee themes are always a blast!   You will especially love this stamp set as it's a larger size - 6x8" - and packed with value!!

Sneak Peak - Teacher

Hello everyone!

Here is how I put my card together:

1.  My card is an A2 card, measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2,

2.  I die cut a black piece of cardstock and then die cut the beautiful Bazzill Paper with the hearts on it and adhered the two pieces together and adhered it to the base of the card,

3.  I die cut the black piece of cardstock and with my finger smeared some white pigment ink to make it look like a chalk board, I then stamped the sentiment from the Teacher stamp set, with the white pigment ink.

4.  I stamped and colored the cup with copics, and then used my scan and cut to cut it out, I adhered this to my card using some foam dots.

My card is pretty much clean and simple, but elegant.  I love the Bazzill heart paper.  They have it in several colors, which is perfect for any card you are creating.  Thank you  Bazzill Paper for such beautiful papers.

More Coffee Inspiration with Martha Lucia

I am fascinated with the colors and textures that Bazill Basics Paper offered to create my cards. Today I am featuring three different stamp sets from Joy Clair and many cardstocks from Bazzill. Take a look at my first project:

To make this card I used the Tea Party Background and the Coffee Quotes stamp sets. I stamped the all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

My second project is a Gift Card Holder that I made using Bazzill Basics Paper and the stamp set Coffee and Jesus, in combination with the Coffee Cup Shaped Card 2 Template Digital Cutting File  from The Cutting Cafe.

Today, I'm sharing a card featuring the foam art in the Coffee Talk stamp set.  I'm also featuring the deelish cardstock from Bazzill Basics!

To create this card, I used the following Bazzill Basics Paper:  

Bazzill Basics Bling:  Regal 

Bazzill Basics Pale Rose

I cut a 12x12 piece of Pale Rose Cardstock up so that I would have a 5x5 square card base and a 4x4 piece to stamp on.  

I cut a 12x12 piece of Regal Blingy cardstock so that I would have a piece of 4.5 x 4.5 to use as a layer.  

I also used a scrap of printed paper from a retired My Minds Eye printed paper pad called Vanity Fair.  

I started out by cutting my Pale Rose cardstock into a 5x5 card base.  I also cut a panel that was 4x4 so that I could splatter some Walnut Stain Distress Oxide over it.  When I was satisfied with the splatter of the ink and some water, I blasted it with my heat gun so that it would dry quickly.  Then I stamped the heart pattern foam art over it using white ink.  Next, I dried it again and rubbed some Gold Pan Pastel over that.  Next, I used my Misti to stamp the additional heart design foam art with some dark chocolate ink onto a scrap of white cardstock.  I fussy cut the foam art and rubbed it with some Gold Pan Pastel to get it shimmery and started to assemble the card.  

I tilted the paper a bit so you could see the deelish metallic sheen on my paper.  Just love how it transforms a regular card into something so elegant.  

After arranging the printed paper and the foam onto the card front, I stamped the MMMM...sentiment onto the card, attached the bling cardstock and wrapped this panel with a yummy mocha satin ribbon.  I then attached this panel onto the card base using foam squares.  

And there you have it!  A perfecty gorgeous card to share with a coffee loving friend!  Thanks so much for hopping over and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Hi, Connie here with another Coffee inspired card set, using the new set by Joy Clair called Coffee And Jesus.  We are still blog hopping with the Coffee Lover's Spring/Summer Blog Hop. Check it out~Along with Coffee themed projects, I will be creating with Bazzill Basics cardstock all month long.   Bazzill cardstock is a very durable cardstock and the colors are amazing!!  I created a coffee themed card set using pattern paper by Bazzill.  It has swirls of bright gold foil and looks beautiful as the background for Coffee And Jesus stamps by Joy Clair. 

The cards are about 5"x 5", double matted with the reverse side of the pattern paper, which is a matching solid color.   The stamped images are stamped on white cardstock with archival ink.  The travel coffee mug is colored with alcohol markers and adhered to the sentiment.   Twine is added to the bottom of each card.


Love the dark blue, the richness of the color, paired with the lime green cardstock.  The travel coffee mug has a rose pattern, making it easy to bring in the color to the image.

Custom Return Address Stamps From Joy Clair

Hello stamping friends!  It's Karen Letchworth posting today, and I thank you for joining us as I share a fun card I created using some fabulous Joy Clair Stamps.   The first stamp set I'm using today is called Easter Greetings, and you may wonder why on earth I chose to use this particular stamp set since it's now past Easter.  Well, my reason for doing this is two-fold.  First, our FABULOUS New Release isn't quite yet available so I wanted to use some of the (many) fabulous stamp sets already available in the Joy Clair Store.  And second, I really wanted to demonstrate for everyone just how versatile Joy Clair's wonderful stamp sets really are.  Each lovely set has images and sentiments; and even this sweet Easter Greetings set is useful all year long with its cute bunnies, beautiful flowers and lovely sentiments.I started this card with a piece of Cream Puff Cardstock by Bazzill Basics (our partner this month) as well as some sweet patterned papers, ribbons, flowers, and a doily.  I stamped the sentiments (Easter Is Here) onto a journalling tag and attached it in the upper left-hand corner of my card.  That's the only stamping I did to this very simple card.  But.....as I often like to do, I decided to decorate a matching envelope for my card.  I used the bunnies from this same Easter Greetings set in Ballerina Pink, and then used one of my Personalized Return Address Stamps from the AMAZING Custom Stamps selection from Joy Clair Stamps.  Let me tell you, stamping friends, I've looked around on the internet; and l can honestly say that Joy Clair has one of the Widest Selections of Personalized Stamps (at a very reasonable price) that I've ever seen.
