It is getting close to Easter which means spring cards are happening in my parts! I decided to use the Easter Greetings set to make a set of three 5.5 cards. The Easter bunnies appear to be black on the package and some people really struggle with that. They think of bunnies as white or pink for the holiday. Something to keep in mind is the packaging is just printed in black. You can stamp the little darlings any color your heart desires. Sometime we get stuck on what we see and assume it has to be that way. It took me awhile to figure out what to do with these sweet little bunnies because I did not want black bunnies on my Easter cards. It then dawned on me that I could stamp them and emboss them in white and silver -- which I did!
When I stamped these bunnies in silver I used a watercolor pencil to color in the bunnies. The embossed image resisted the watercolor and complimented the bunnies. For this card I used purple chalk to shade the bunnies in on mulberry paper. THe different textures and old school technique make this card a classic stunner!
I really wanted to round out the card series and opted to create a spring card with the beautiful lilies that are included in the set.
Once again I used mulberry paper to stamp on. I used Lavender whisper glimmer mist over the image and adhered to a piece of pattern canvas.
I did not stamp any of the images on regular card stock, but rather specialty paper that I found in a scrap pack through Canvas Corp Brands. Don't be afraid to think outside of the box when crafting. Try to break the rules and just have fun!
Until next time ~ Happy Crafting!
