Hi everyone!! It's Lindsay, from the design team, here with you today sharing another video tutorial! I absolutely love to create fun backgrounds for my cards and I couldn't wait to pull out the cacti from the brand new "Blossom" stamp set to make a fun background! To see how I did it, you can watch the full video tutorial down below!
Stamping the cacti and making a background is pretty simple, but before you stamp it's good to think about what coloring medium you will be using. This allows you to choose the right ink to stamp with so your coloring medium will play nicely! I knew I wanted to watercolor my images and I like to have a bit of a well to hold in my colors so I can watercolor quickly, so I decided to stamp and heat emboss my images in black.
Because I wanted my images to be as intense as possible, I chose to watercolor my images with Catherine Pooler Inks. And to add more interest to the background I used different shades of green to color in each of the different cacti!
You could use any of the sentiments included in the Blossom stamp set, but I wanted to use one of my favorite sets to complete the sentiment on this card! Hello Sentiments is one of those stamp sets that is a must have in my stash! I use it so often and it's the perfect builder to finish off any card. For my card today I built up the sentiment "Sending Hugs", which I thought was just perfect to go along with the cactus background!
As you know, I not only like to decorate the outside of my cards, but I love to bring a little of the design to the inside as well! I used one of the sentiments from the Blossom stamp set and also a little cactus included in the stamp set as well, stamped in one of the green inks I used to watercolor the outside with!
I hope you all enjoyed today's video tutorial! I had such a fun time making this card! If you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my card today, you can find them linked down below. Until next time, Happy Crafting!!
