Hello everyone Monica here today to share a little project I made using Rise and Shine from the new Joy Clair release! For today's project I decided to do a mini Shadow box frame that is now sitting next to my desk, but I probably will move to the shelf next to my bed. (That would make more since right?)
I recently picked up the little shadow box frame at TJ Maxx, I thought it was super cute and bought it in two different sizes. The first thing I did was stamp the sun image on the panel that I cut to size for the 4x6 frame.
To create the rays radiating from the sun I took a piece of scrap paper that was on my desk and sponged ink onto the back ground. I wasn't careful with the sun because I knew it was going to be covered in the end.
I then I stamped the sun again as well as the rooster on a separate piece of paper. Next I chose 3 shades of yellow copics to color the sun and then fussy cut it with out the rays since they are already on the stamped background. I was wanting a colorful rooster so I googled some photos for some inspiration. After I colored him, I fussy cut him too.
I then adhered both the sun and rooster to the panel. I noticed the rooster looked as if he was floating in the air so I drew in a little fence to stand on. Once the panel is the frame you can't really see it... but it was bugging me a little and I didn't know it wouldn't matter at the time.
After my images were glued down, I used my mini MISTI to help stamp the sentiment. I had a feeling it would stamp smoothly the first time and restamping is so much easier in a MISTI! Once the sentiment was stamped, I added the panel to the frame to be displayed!
Hope you are enjoying the new release! I'll see you next time!
