It's Ceal, here. Today am sharing a card using one of new release sets, Pearl of Great Price. I have to admit I have read the verse Matthew 13:45 that this set is based on several times in the past but when I read the scripture again before I made my card it really opened my eyes to how Jesus sees each of his children. We are like fine pearls to Him, doesn't that just bless your heart and give you chill bumps to know that the creator of the universe seeks you out like merchant looking for fine pearls, it does me!
To create my card I started with a white top folding card base and a couple panels, a watercolor paper and a gray one cut down with a dotted layering die. I thought the dotted layers go well with this stamp set. Using the MISTI because anytime I stamp on watercolor paper I always use it in case I need to over stamp and I did, I stamped the ocean plants on the watercolor paper panel using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then watercolored them using Daniel Smith Pearlescent watercolors. I added some "ocean water" around them and on a scrap piece of watercolor paper I stamped the pearl and then also colored it using the Daniel Smith pearlescent watercolors. I couldn't get a real good picture of my card to show the shimmer but it does have simmer especially the pearl, I fussy cut the pearl out and then turned it over on a foam pad and using a stylist I made it a round shape so it really resembles a pearl. To add dimension I added some foam tape behind it. After adding the greeting I adhered the two layers on the base to finish the card.
