Welcome to the Joy Clair World Card Making Day Challenge! Hopefully you've been following along all day and have been participating in all the fun. You'll have plenty of chances to win some great prizes, so make sure you head over to the Joy Clair blog to find out all the details. In case you missed it, hop on over to my Craftroom Tour {HERE}. I try to make the most of the space I have in order to create all my projects to share with you.
Right now, it's my turn to challenge you! Lets see what you can create with just letters. You can use die cuts, letter stamps, and sentiments. I'm using two stamp sets from Joy Clair, Dancing Donut Background(which I'll be using to create my own patterned paper) and Sprinkled with Love. This challenge will show you that you can create a cute card without all the stamped images.
Start by using the Dancing Donut Background on a piece of what cardstock. Color in the donuts using markers or colored pencils, in your choice of colors. I wanted to keep this card night and bright, so I chose a pink and purple color scheme.
Next, I used my rectangular stitch die for the boarder, to add a nice finished look, and then used my letter die cuts to cut out the word "Donut". Choose a coordinating solid color paper and cut out two more sets of the word "Donut."
Glue or tape the three sets of letters together to build dimension. I used the original donut paper letters as the bottom layer and added the two solid colors on top.
Time for embossing. I used the "Worry, Be Happy" sentiment that came in the Joy Clair Sprinkled with Love stamp set and embossed it on black cardstock.
Lastly, adhere the donut background to a coordinating solid color cardstock, glue down the letters, and then use foam tap to add the sentiment.
Even though we used the Dancing Donut Background stamp, it's used more as a creative way to make your own pattern paper. But, by using only sentiment stamps and letter die cuts, you can still create such a fun card for any occasion.
Before I left let me give a warm welcome to our Guest Designer and friend Jowilna Nolte.
If you want to see all the details about her card just click over her name and enjoy!
Check out the "Rules" for our WCMD challenges:
1. We want everyone to be able to play in the challenge so you can use ANY stamps you have in your collection (although we would love to see Joy Clair products used!)
2. All of the challenge will be up until next Sunday so take your time and enjoy this process!
3. If you are unable to participate, that's ok! Comment on our posts. We will be awarding a prize to a randomly selected commenter who hangs out with us on all of our challenges.
4. Add your link to the appropriate Inlinkz Link-up tool for that post. You may enter as many times as you wish while the challenges are open.
5. Each challenge will contain a prize opportunity and we'll choose a winner from all entries posted.
Have some FUN!
Winners of all the challenges will be announced as usual on a Joy Clair Blog post on Tuesday, October 31.
We REALLY want to reward those who enter multiple challenges. The crafters who enter a different card for at least FOUR of the challenges and mark your entry with JCGP, will be entered into a pool to have a chance to win a fabulous GRAND PRIZE!
