Hello everyone, Monica here today with a card using the bleaching technique with the new set Heartfelt Sympathy. I've had this technique on my to do list for awhile and finally decided to give it a try. I love how the look you get can very on the cardstock and the amount of bleach you "paint" on.
I started by stamping an image from the new set Heartfelt Sympathy with VersaMark and heat embossing it with black embossing powder (it holds up to the bleach) on gray cardstock. Which created an ivory look in the bleach washed areas, I think it turned out classy looking on the gray.
Once I saw the ivory color started to show I decided to use some Rinea foil to add some glitz and texture to my card. So I ran the foil through my Big Shot with and embossing folder. Then distressed it with a file to get a little distressed look on the foil, then trimmed it down and added it to my cardbase.
I heat emobossed a sentiment from Heartfelt Sympathy in black on vellum, so that it wouldn't completely cover the flowers on the main panel. Before I adhered the flower panel on the cardbase, I wrapped the sentiment strip around it (so that I could hide the adhesive on the back of the panel).
The Heartfelt Sympathy set is beautiful with its sentiments and flowers, and I can see it being used for more than just sympathy card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Until next time, Monica
Elegant card.
