Donut Worry Be Happy my crafty friends, Joy Clair has an awesome new release! Hope you are enjoying our designs with the new release and have added some sets to your list! I was so excited to see the donuts in the release and knew what I wanted to do with this Dancing Donut Background as soon as I a saw it... the stamp layering technique!
This is a fun technique and has such a great look whether you use a background stamp or create your own using single stamps. You need to panels to create it, a plain cardstock and the stamped piece. So I started by stamping the Dancing Donut Background on a cardstock panel.
The next step is to die cut both of the panels. I used my stamped background and a sheet of Rinea foil for the layered pieces. Just make sure that all of you layers are different sizes for layering. I used a stack of dies in varying sizes.
Once the layers are die cut I then layer them onto a cardbase starting with the largest "solid" color rectangle. Then I alternate the die cuts solid, pattern, solid, pattern to create the card. (You should be careful on how you adhere the layers, to make sure the pattern matches.) For the top panel I used plain cardstock so I would have a surface for my sentiment and image, but add it after I get it stamped.
I stamped a donut from the set Sprinkled with Love on the small white panel and on a piece of the foil. I then fussy cut the icing off of the foil and adhered it to the donut on the small top panel. Before adhering it to the top of the card I stamped a sentiment (which was just a tad wider then my panel) from the Sprinkled with Love set.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day! Until next time, Monica!
Love the simple colour palette on this cute layered card. Thanks for the inspiration.
