I love a good occasion stamp set and own several, but I also like to try and find other ways to use them in different types of cards. This is exactly what I did today with the Mother's Day Love stamp set, which is an amazing Mother's Day stamp set, but I really wanted to try and find another way to use it! Watch the video tutorial down below to see exactly what I came up with for today's cards!
I love the Mother's Day Love set for Mother's Day cards, but that only comes once a year and while you can use it to make a card ANYTIME for your Mom (Mom's always need thank you's), I wanted to make some lunch box notes with this set. I know lunch box notes aren't everyone's thing, so I also included how to change this design into a full A2 one layer card as well.
What I love about creating lunch box notes is they are so simple and easy to make. And one of my favorite ways to kick them up a notch is to add coloring to the images. Today, I used the Leisure Arts colored pencils and watercolor pencils. Be sure and watch the video tutorial above to see the coloring in full detail. One point I want to emphasize is that with the watercolor pencils, you will need an ink that is waterproof and you will need to stamp on watercolor paper to get these to work. They WILL NOT work on regular cardstock and you will end up with splotchy mess.
Like I said above, I know little lunch box notes are not something that everyone wants or needs to create. So I took the layouts of the smaller cards and turned it into a full one layer A2 card. Again, I used colored pencils to do the coloring on this card. For the final touch on this card, I added a few felt clouds to the scene to add a bit of dimension and texture to this really simple card.
I hope you all enjoyed a look at using the Mother's Day Love stamp set a bit differently and if you are interested in any of the supplies I used, they are all linked down below! Happy Crafting Everyone!!
