Hello everyone, Monica here to share a card I made using two sets from the latest Joy Clair release. I used Light House and Crackle background. I love both the lighthouse and boat images from this set. I couldn't resist using both images this month, you can see my card using the boat on our July Challenge post here.
I will admit I was struggling a little to get this card going for some reason. I think I had to much swimming around and couldn't focus, so I went through my sketchbook and found the one pictured above and thought it would work perfectly for my card.
After the sketch desicion was made it was pretty simple to get the card going from there. I started by heat embossing the Crackle background image on a panel with white embossing powder. Then I picked some blue watercolor pencils from Leisure Arts and used them to scribble across the panel from dark to light. I then blended the pencils with some water and watercolor brush.
I picked a medium color blue ink to stamp the light house image from Lighthouse on a piece of scratch cardstock. Before trimming the panel down I added the light beams in a yellow ink and stamped the sentiment in black over the light house image. Once the stamping was done I trimmed the little panel down and layered on some pattern paper.
I then layered a light colored pattern paper on another piece of the darker pattern paper and attached an anchor brad. To complete the card I then layered all of my panels to a cardbase and trimmed any access that was hanging over.
Until next time... Monica
