Everyday Love Card using Joy Clair's Mother's Day Love Stamp

Hello Crafters!

I'm so excited to show you this simple, yet adorable card using the newest Joy Clair Mother's Day Love stamp set. I love how it can be used for everyday love cards, friendship, or kids, not just for Mother's Day. Nothing beats a versatile stamp set. After I created this card, I thought about how adorable this shaker tag would be on its own. With all the different huggable animals included in this stamp set, these would be cute tags to put on gifts, as well. I opted to use my Leisure Arts Premium Colored Pencils, and they definitely delivered beyond my expectation. I'm fairly new to coloring, so I wasn't sure how the background would turn out, but I am pleasantly surprised. I blended the sunset using some Gamsol and stumps, and the pencils blended so well. Check out how I created this lovable card. 

Directions:

Start by choosing some fun patterned papers. You know me, I like to mix and match and get a little crazy! Use your stitched rectangular die cuts to add a little detail to the background papers. 

Next, use your favorite huggable animal stamps and sentiments from the Joy Clair Mother's Day Love stamp set, and stamp onto white card stock. I used the penguins, as I knew the black and white colors would work perfectly with my modern, colorful prints. I used a cut out of the shaker die cut to help determine where to place the stamps. 

Then, use your Leisure Arts Premium Colored Pencils to color your animal friends and the background. I made a beautiful ombre sunset using the peachy color and a few pink/purple pencils, and then blended using Gamsol and stumps. The pigment blended better than I expected with these pencils. 

Now it's time to cut and assemble the shaker tag. I kept the tag outline as black so that it stood out and didn't compete with all the different patterns and colors. I added a handful of simple pink beads to the shaker, as well not to compete with the stamp. 

I added a few other embellishments to finish off this card, without going too overboard! The Mother's Day Love stamp set is just too cute for words. With all the different animals and sentiments, you can create a card for anyone you love, at any time of year, for any reason at all!
