Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a card using two new sets from Joy Clair... Mother's Day Love and Broken Brick background. I know Mother's Day has past and this is the card I made for my Mother In Law, but you could easily use another sentiment and make this a birthday or thinking of you card!
I started by scoring a piece of 10 1/2 x 4 1/2 cardstock scored at 3 1/2 and 7 to create my try fold card base. I used a die to create a window in the front panel. Then masked the window area to prep it for stamping the background.
I lightly traced the window area on what would be the middle panel, so that I knew where to stamp my kitties. (I wanted as little of the kitten to show as possible to shoe through the window.) Then I stamped the image with VersaFine Clair (Morning Mist).
While the ink was drying I added details to the front of the card by adding gray (using copic) to the window trim and colored a strip of card stock to create a border at the bottom. I used letter dies with gray cardstock to create my own "stickers" for MOM.
Once the front was done, I stamped the sentiments on the inside of the card and colored the kitties from Mother's Day Love with Copics. This was the first time using the VersaFine Clair ink with my copics and I wasn't sure if the image was "dry", so I was extra careful while coloring. I love how the card turned out, so that you can see the momma cat with the card closed.
Thanks for stopping by, until next time...
Monica
Definitely fun and fabulous!
