Monica here with a project sharing the new set Born to Sparkle. I love this set! It so much fun and the sentiments are all awesome. The sentiment I chose for this card is probably my favorite though because it reminds of watching Steel Magnolias growing up. "I like Pink! Pink is my signature color!"- Shelby, as much as I love that movie I don't agree with statement. I've never been a big fan of pink, but glitter.. that I can get behind. ;-)
I used a silver ink to stamp the falling glitter from Born to Sparkle on the top and bottom of my panel. I thought about leaving them silver, but thought it would make more since to sparkle! I mean it's in the name of the set right! So, since the ink is a pigment, I added some glitter embossing powder. I just love the sparkle it created once it was heat embossed.
Next I stamped my favorite sentiment in VersaFine onyx black ink. After that I took some of the smaller pieces to add more bling around the card. I stamped a full sequin, an outlined sequin and a large starburst sparkle in the silver ink, and then embossed them in the same glitter embossing powder so they had the same sparkle as the falling sparkle. Once everything was stamped and embossed I trimmed down the panel so the stamped images on the top and bottom went from side to side. Layered the panel with a piece of gray cardstock and then adhered the layered panels on the card base.
It's a pretty simple card and would be easy to recreate. Making a couple in different colors as a note card set would be pretty cute. Hmmmm...
Until next time...
Monica
