Hello Joy Clair lovers... Helen is here today. I am dreaming of Spring... We start to plan our garden and so looking forward to enjoy the flowers. Today, I have a Spring themed mixed media card to share with you all.
I created my mixed media card today using Doodle Flowers Clear Stamps and Hell0 Sentiments Clear Stamps. For you who love sending some handmade cards, these stamp sets are perfect. They are couple of my favorites from Joy Clair.
I started with creating the background. I used Distress Oxide inks to get that wash texture on the background. First, I added the ink on the craft mat, sprayed the water, and dipped the watercolor paper into it. I dried each color layer to get different depth of colors on it. Next, using TCW Brick stencil, I added some of the Shimmer Creative Medium on it to get the sparkly brick wall on the background.
TIPS: Wash the stencil right way every time after using it with any texture or medium.
While waiting for the background panel to dry, I created with the flowers and jar.
I stamped the jar and flower from the Doodle Flowers Clear Stamps on a heavyweight white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Mini MISTI. Then I colored the flowers with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers and added some glitter on it with Spectrum Sparkle Brush Pen.
I colored the jar with ShinHan Touch Twin Marker and Blender. Then I added some white gesso on it with my finger. Kindda give it some texture and also shadow.
For the sentiment, I stamped them on a white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Mini MISTI. Then I trimmed the HELLO word with micro-tip scissors and I trimmed the word sentiment strip with Fiskar Paper Trimmer.
I trimmed the background panel slightly smaller than the black card base and I added it on the card with dries-clear adhesive glue. And then I added the jar of flowers, sentiment word, and sentiment strip on the card with 3D foam tape and extra glue to it with dries-clear adhesive glue.
That's the card for you today :) I hope you all enjoy this post and inspired to create with Joy Clair. Come back again tomorrow to see more inspiration projects from the design team!!!
