Monica here to share a scrapbook layout that I made using Be A Flamingo and Fancy Letters. I decided to scrap a photo of flamingos I took at the Indy Zoo a few years ago. I really just wanted a reason to use the flamingo stamps this weekend, so that is why I choose the photo... and not the other way around. I started by picking some papers and ink that would coordinate with the stamps and photo. I had to use a pink (even thought its not a favorite of mine), because what other color would you use for flamingos?
I put the image on a mat of white cardstock and then pattern paper that works to tie my colors together. Once I had all my layers cut and decided where they were going to go, I die cut my letters for my title. Then I stamped out the two flamingos in the Be A Flamingo set to create a flamingo border strip using Flirty Flamingo ink. I perfectly named pink ( in my opinion).
After the flamingo strip was stamped and placed on the layout, I started working on the title. The dies I used for the letters is from Stampin' Up, I love them since they are such a great size to use for scrapbooking. I colored about the bottom third of each letter with a marker and used the star and dot background image from Be A Flamingo in the same color to stamp the top portions. I must admit I'm not in love with the extra pattern on the letters now that they are on my layout and have thought about coloring the entire letter, but have left it as is for now.
I then lined the letters up and adhered them to the layout. The last little thing I had to do was create my little banner for the word Let's. I used Fancy Letters to stamp the word then created the banner. Before adhering the word banner down I wanted to add a little banner layer under it with the some colored cardstock to help the banner stand out a little more.
Have a great day, until next time!
