Hello everyone, Monica here today with two projects to share with you. I used a few sets from Joy Clair's release. My first project is a card I made using Gnome Is Where the Heart Is. I absolutely adore the heart shaped house from the set and wanted to use it as the focal point on my card.
I started by stamping the house on the card panel and once on a post it. I then used the post it as a mask to cover the house after I trimmed around the sides. Once the mask was in place I used the fence image on either side of the house. Once the stamping was done I then used copics to color the house fence. Then I decided to die cut a border for a decorative edge, before I layered the panel on pattern paper.
I decided to color the little heart created by the decorative to coordinate with the patter paper and add them as if they were floating out of the chimney. Once everything was adhered, I then added some glossy accents to the hearts and windows. After the glossy accents was dry I added my sentiment to finish the card.
For my second project I used both Refuel My Soul and Gnome is Where the Heart is to create an art journal page. I've only made before and that was years ago! I wanted to do another and had fun putting it together.
I had previously added the pattern tissue paper to the page with gesso and never worked on it, so it became the start of my page. I used a watercolor pencil to draw some lines for the road and building. Then using some watercolors I worked on making my scene. Once the water color was dry I stamped the car and gas pumps from Refuel My Sole on the page and onto some pattern paper.
I then fussy cut my images and glued them to the page, using copic markers for shading. I used the flower and mushroom images form Gnome is Where the Heart to add some interest to the grassy area and colored them with watercolor. Stamped some of the sentiments form Refuel My Soul.
Until next time, Monica
