Monica here to share two cards using Call on the Lord, Love Languages and Valentine Background builder from the new Joy Clair release, as well as an older alpha set Stiff Letters.
I was planning on a using Call on the Lord for a bible journaling page, but I got inspired by a song. "I just called to say I love you" by Stevie Wonder kept popping in my head, so that's what I went with. I stamped and cut the phone to lay it on the card to get proper spacing for the sentiment. I did use a ruler and drew a faint line to stamp the letters in called, but for the rest I just carefully eyeballed them when stamping.
I decided to added some hearts from Love Languages set using Worn Lipstick distress ink for a tone on tone look. Adhered the panels to the cardbase and popped the phone up on some foam adhesive. To finish the card I then stamped the I love you sentiment and hearts from Love Languages on the inside.
On to card number two! This one took more time, since there was a lot of ink blending involved. I used distress ink to create a red to purple blend on a cardstock panel. Once the ink was dry, I used four stamps from the Valentine Background builder with VersaMark and clear embossing powder to create a heat embossed background. This creates an ink resist area, so when I added the black ink over the embossed areas the original color still shows, this is called the Joseph's Coat technique.
For the sentiment I used I love you once again from Love Languages to stamp and heat emboss on a piece of vellum. I then wrapped the vellum around my panel. The panel was then adhered to the card base and I added some Nuvo dots to finish the card.
Until next time, Monica
Am in love with your fabulous card!! And now will be singing or humming that song for the rest of my day!
