Hello everyone... Helen is here today and I have a Bible journaling page to share with you that I created using the Praise The Lord stamp set, one of the new Color By Faith collection.
This journaling about who God is and what He has done in Psalms 66. And this stamp set is just perfect to express it.
First step, I prepared my page with some clear gesso. I do this step with I work with mixed media mediums and lots of water, too. Clear gesso will prevent the mediums bleeding through the page.
As you can see on the picture, I have an extra craft mat that I cut smaller to fit in my Bible. If you do not have extra craft mat, you can use copy paper or acetate plastic from packaging that is big enough to use as your journaling craft mat :) This can prevent the paint/coloring medium transferring to the other pages.
Clear gesso dries quickly, but I used craft heater to speed up the drying process. Once it dry, it give the page some texture when you touch it. It is okay.
I added some of the Gelatos on the page. Then I sprayed it with some water. Using my finger, I blended the colors. And I used my craft heater to dry the page. I dried it from the top and the back of the page.
Another tip of using craft heater on a Bible journaling page, make sure you pre-heated the craft heater for few of seconds, and move it consistently around the page, do not stay on one spot too long becuase it will wrinkle your page badly.
I added some white splatters on the page using white Gelatos and white acrylic paint. I like to use fan brush to add splatter.
There are also other ways to add splatters on your page such as use old toothbrush, or add the paint/ink on a stamping block and flick it over the page, or you also can simply use round brush and tap it over the page. Different way with will give your different kind of splatters.
I dried my page one more time with craft heater to make sure the surface ready for stamping.
For stamping on Bible journaling page, I like to use stamping foam mat underneath to get a good impression of the image. I created mine out of kids fun foam :)
I put the stamping foam mat the page and stamped the sentiment from Praise The Lord stamp set using Black Archival Ink Pad.
And then I stamped the praising hands images on the pages with Black Archival Ink Pad and using the first, second and third stamping technique to create the layers.
I finished this page with some doodle printed washi tapes around the page to create the border.
Then I thought the verses page also need some colors :) So I added some acrylic paints washes on the page using flat brush. And I finished the page with some splatters using Gelatos, water, and fan brush.
And... my journaling page is done. I hope you all enjoy it and inspired to express your heart of worship to God through your art works today. Thank you so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful blessed day!
Love this post. Thanks for the info!!
