Hello everyone... Helen is here today with a Christmas card that I created using the new Dog Gone Christmas Stamp Set. This stamp is totally super adorable for creating Christmas cards and handmade gifts for dog-lovers.
I used couple techniques to create this card. First is to create the starry night background with watercolor and to color the images I used no-line coloring technique.
On a piece of watercolor paper, I scribble the Stabilo Woody Crayons - I used the teal, light blue, dark blue, indigo, and purple. And... these crayons set is actually belong to my daughter :D :D :D
After that I blended the colors with watercolor brush. I dried it with craft heater for speedy drying. After that I added the black crayon on top of them, and used the watercolor brush to blend the colors. I dried it again with craft heater. After that I added some white splatters with white acrylic paint and small flat brush. I set it aside to dry completely while working on the images.
I stamped the images with Desert Sand Mement Ink Pad on a piece of white cardstock. And then colored them with Prismacolor Pencils. I also used the Colorless Pencil to blend the colors.
You cannot see the lines of the stamped image becuase I stamped them in the lightest color ink so it is easy to color on top of it. This is the no-line coloring technique. It is fun coloring technique to try.
After I colored them all, I cut them one by one using micro tip scissors.
the next step is to create the background panel on the card. I added the watercolored background on the card base with strong adhesive. And then, I die cut 3 white snow slope shapes using Curvy Slope Dies. And then I added some of the Tumble Glass Distress Ink o the edges of the die cut with blending tool to give some snowy shadow.
And I arranged them to create the snowy hill and added them on the card with some liquid adhesive.
Final step is to add sentiment and the colored images on the card. I stamped the sentiment with Rhubarb Stalk and Bamboo Leaves Memento Dew Drop Ink Pads.
I added the dog house on top of the snow hills with liquid adhesive, and then I added the puppy right in front of the house with 3D foam tape for extra dimension.
And the card is done. I hope you can enjoy this card and inspire you to create projects for this coming Christmas season. Let's share the joy and cheers through handmade gifts!
