Hello everyone... Helen is here today with a project featuring the new Color by Faith collection with watercoloring and some diecutting sets.
I am in love with the Flamingoes and sentiments on this Be A Flamingo Stamp Set. You can build your own scene with this set.
First, I stamped the flamingo several times on a watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. Then I colored it with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and watercolor brush.
I dried the first layer of colors with craft heater. And I added more layers of colors on the flamingoes for extra shadow and textures on them. I dried them again with craft heater and then fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors.
On a separate watercolor paper, I created a sky watercolor background with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Ink. I used smooshing technique for this background. I dried between adding colors. I also sprinkle some water and dabbed it off with paper towel for more texture on it.
To create the step card, I used the Side Step Card Die. I cut it out of a heavy weight white cardstock 110 lbs for sturdiness as a cardbase.
I stamped the sentiment on another heavy weight white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and then I die cut them with Mini Labels Die Set. I added some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink around the edge of the die cut labels for some shadow.
For the fence, I die cut several times out of Black cardstock.
And for the grass, I die cut them with Grass Hill Die and Grass Lawn Die out of 2 shades of Green Cardstocks.
For the sentiment, first I stamped it on a Pink cardstock and die cut it with one of the Pennant Flag Dies, and then I die cut another darker shade of Pink cardstock with Double Stitched Pennant Flag Dies. And then I layered them together.
After all the die-cut pieces ready, it is time to put them together. First I added the sky watercolored background on the side step card, then I added the flamingo on top of it with liquid adhesive. Next, I added the grass on the front step of the card with liquid adhesive. I used 3D foam tape to add the fence on top of the grasses. Then, I put the pennant sentiment on top of it with liquid adhesive.
For the second step, I added the fence with liquid adhesive, and I added the label with 3D foam tape.
The last step is the third step at the back. I added the grasses at the bottom first with liquid adhesive and then the flamingo on the side. Finally, I added the label sentiment on it with 3D foam tape.
My card is done. I hope you are inspired today to create something with Joy Clair stamps. To find more inspirations and news updates, make sure to follow Joy Clair at:
