Hello everyone... Helen is here again today with a fun mixed media card using one of Joy Clair new stamp set, Out Of The World, together with the Rinea foil papers.
I have been having fun creating galaxy and nebula background using couple of coloring medium, like watercolor paints, Color Burst and Gelatos. On this card today, I used Iridescent Gelatos to create my card background. I love these Gelatos.
On a piece of watercolor paper (you can also use any heavy weight cardstock, as an option), I added some white gesso using old credit card. Then when the gesso was completely dry, randomly I scribbled some of the Iridescent Gelatos (Starbust, Nebula, Stardust, Galaxy, Black Hole) on the paper and then using my finger I mixed the colors. They give the metallic look and extra sparkle on it. Check it out on this short video below:
I added some splatters of white acrylic paint using toothbrush and fan brush. I set it aside to dry well for few minutes. And then I die cut the background with the largest size of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangles Nesting Dies. And then, I picked 2 sizes of the Circles Dies and die cut the middle of the background for the rotation path for the rocket ship and earth.
After working on the background, I stamped the rocket ship shapes several times on Rinea Foiled Papers (Patriotic Foiled Paper Variety Pack, Copper Star Struck Pack) with StazOn Black Ink Pad, and set aside to dry. Then I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors. I put them together with On Point Glue.
To create the earth, I stamped the earth image with Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad, colored it with watercolor pencils, and I used Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush instead of regular watercolor brush to spread the colors. It gives the watercolor look and glitter at the same time :) And I fussy cut it, too.
I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink pad on a white cardstock, and die cut it with the one of the Double Stitched Circles Dies. And then I added it on the card with adhesive.
After that, I added the background panel on a black card base using Tombow Extreme Permanent Adhesive. And then using some 3D foam tape, I added the foiled rocket ship and watercolored earth on the card. Honestly, my original plan was to make it as a spinning card, but I did something wrong on the steps, so I chanced my mind to just a clean-and-simple mixed media card :)
I hope you all can enjoy my card today and be inspired to create something to bless and bring joy into someone's life. To see more inspirations and keep updated on new products, challenges, and giveaways, make sure you follow Joy Clair on these social media:

This is a very nice card. Those galaxy backgrounds are awesome, they give a lot of depth.
