It's Kerry here and I'm back to share another amazing release for August. This set is called Faith Quotes and it is a fabulous collection of mixed fonts and sentiments that sing...Yes, they SING to me! Here, let me share what I mean.
When I first saw this sentiment set, I was struck by two particular sentiments. They weren't just any sentiments, they sang...they had music, they rang loud and clear. The first sentiment that sang to me was "It is Well with My Soul". When I read it...I sang it...This is the song that rang clear (take a listen)
And then...when I read "His Grace is Enough" this is what I heard:
It's crazy! It's amazing how words have so much power...I love it! So anytime you see some sentiments, pay attention. Do you HEAR music?
So this set is quite powerful to me. It is encouraging and inspiring...I love it. Check out the card I created using this set:
I chose to use this sentiment because I love the awesome scripty sketchy font and I think the sentiment is pretty powerful with minimal additional design elements. I did however, add some background stamping using Memento Pear Tart and Dandelion ink. I thought the background mimicked the undulation and rhythm of the song.
I wanted to push the background stamping a bit farther into the background so I rubbed white ink over the top and then added some swipes of white embossing powder. That gave it a bit of texture and also helped soften the background. Stamping a bit of a Dandelion from the Spring Time Sentiments set helped add a bit of whimsy. Just a little "golden angel hair" and golden pearls finished the card off.
