Hello there Joy Clair and Quick Quotes Friends,
Lindsay here!!! I hope everyone is enjoying this week long partnership with Joy Clair Stamp & Quick Quotes! It is Lindsay here with you today, sharing my card that I made with products from both Quick Quotes & Joy Clair Stamp. If you haven't noticed from my style, I don't normally use a lot of patterned paper on my cards, but I did want to share with you a few tips and tricks I like to use when I do find myself reaching for it! Also, in the video below, you will also find a few other ideas for your vellum quotes and 12 x 12 papers!! So be sure to watch the video tutorial below and keep checking back in this entire week as all of the DT has some amazing projects to share with you!! Also, be sure to leave a comment each day to be entered into a drawing for a $25 Gift Card from Joy Clair Stamps & a prize from Quick Quotes!!!!
ENJOY!!
Starting with the 12 x 12 paper filled with quotes, I cut out the quote "the sweetest moments are moments togehter". Using a few circle die cuts I die cut the sentiment into several layers so I could add dimension for more interest. To be able to assemble the sentiment back together, I cut a backing paper from plain computer paper and glued all of the layers to it. For the outer circle, I glued it straight down with liquid adhesive, the scalloped frame I popped up with fun foam and double sided adhesive, and the final inner sentiment I glued down with liquid adhesive as well. I also die cut a gorgeous 12 x 12 patterned paper from the 49 Shades of Gray line with a scalloped rectangle die to be my mat. (I had a hard time cutting up that beautiful paper!! LOL)
To accent my papers I used the "Doodle Flowers" stamp set. I first stamped the jar with the Midnight Confessions Chalk Ink from Quick Quotes onto vellum and because chalk ink will stay wet for a bit, I heat embossed it with clear EP. Next up, I stamped the bunch of flowers with the same ink onto watercolor paper and again heat embossed with clear EP. To give each stamped image color, I used my chalks and dove blender pen, then fussy cut each one, leaving a thin white border. While I had my cutting tools out, I also cut a slit in the top of the jar, so I could insert my flowers!
To put all of the pieces together, I chose an A2 top folding kraft card base as my my starting point. For the large patterned paper mat, I used double sided adhesive to adhere it directly to the card base. I also used the same adhesive to adhere the sentiment that I had die cut. Finally, I used fun foam and double sided adhesive to adhere my jar and flowers on the bottom right of the card base. And my final touches were a few clear sequins, which I glued down with a bit of multi medium matte.
Welcome Kerry!!!
I am excited to be joining the fun collaboration of Joy Clair and Quick Quotes this week. Today is my day to share and I hope you enjoy what I created! My cute and trendy card combines some awesome products from Joy Clair and Quick Quotes. I selected delish papers from the Ahoy There Collection as well as the mermaid set called Seas the Day from Joy Clair. They are a perfect match!
I had a ball creating this cute mermaid card using the inks and papers from Quick Quotes. The inks color beautifully and the double-sided papers are so rich and gorgeous. I love that this pattern coordinates SO perfectly with the mermaid stamp set from Joy Clair. Isn't it perfect?!
Such a gorgeous collection of papers and panel cut-outs. I chose a to use some papers from the Anchors Aweigh Collection, some papers designed by Joy , the little pennant cut-out from the Mulberry collection. It works perfectly with the theme too.
I started out by stamping my Mermaid and jellyfish image using the Midnight Confessions Ink. I colored the image using Aqua Powder Puff and Sunset inks and a super-fine paint brush. I wasn't worried at all when the black bled a bit because it actually accentuated the color of the images. I was careful lot to make it too muddy by coloring around the black lines.
Stitching a bit of the peachy paper gave an added texture and layer to the paper...and finished off this layer to perfection.
Even the little jellyfish got a sparkly treatment with some Wink of Stella!
If you haven't already, be sure to head back to the beginning of the week, so you don't miss any of the fun!! And please be sure and watch the video tutorial, where I share a few more ways to use the Quick Quotes products!!!
