It's Christmas in July and We want to have all the Christmas Stamp Sets!!!
We love to be prepared for all our special events so preparing for Christmas and buying all the stamps at discounted prices is very tempting!!!
Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here with you. Today it is my turn and I decided to use a very cute and useful stamp set: Christmas Penguins.
I made a lot of tags for my gifts using the single images and combining some of them. The base of the tags is card stock, I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored each image with Prismacolor pencils and enhanced the details of each penguin with irRESISTible Clear and irRESISTible Shimmer from Imagine. Then I cut the same shape with a window using Rinea Foil in different and attractive colors. I pasted the foil over the card base using Tombo Glue.
To finalize the decoration I added a border die cut over the front of each tag using a Christmas border die cut and on top a few loops of bakers twine to attach it to the present.
Remember that until July 21, you can buy ANY CHRISTMAS STAMP SET from Joy Clair using the DISCOUNT CODE:CIJ17 and receive the 10% off in your stamps. Also if your order is of $50 dollars or more, your SHIPPING IS FREE!!!

Merry Christmas in July everyone!!! It's Lindsay from the DT here with you today, sharing my Christmas in July card using the oh so cute "Merry Christmoose" stamp set! This is such an adorable and fun set that I used to make a card with some no line coloring with colored pencils. (If you can't tell I'm on a colored pencil coloring kick, LOL!) Be sure and watch the full video tutorial below for all the details on how I made and colored my card for today! And when you're done here, be sure to head over to the Joy Clair shop and take full of advantage of the Christmas in July Sale!!! ENJOY!!
To start my card I first made a kraft panel and red frame with two different sized rectangle dies. I used a die cut inlay technique to create the red frame and the smaller rectangle to make my kraft panel. On the kraft panel, I used Desert Sand Memento Ink and the Merry Christmoose Stamp Set to stamp for a tone on tone look (Maybe a little too close in color! I'll explain how I fix this.). I started with the moose in the set, and after masking off that image with a mask I had made beforehand from Inkadinkado Masking Paper, I stamped three trees "behind" the moose. After removing the mask to reveal the very quick scene I had created, I brought out my Prismacolor colored pencils and started coloring.
So a quick disclaimer and word of warning/quick tip, I had to stop coloring in the middle of my project, like I have to do quite often because I'm a Mom and it was time to make supper and when I came back my lines had pretty much faded into the paper and I couldn't see them anymore. In order to fix this I brought out my MISTI and used a darker brown ink to stamp my moose and bottom of the trees, and a green ink to stamp the tops of the trees. Honestly, if you want to recreate this card, I would suggest using the green ink on the trees from the get go. Having that there allowed me to not be so precise when coloring in the needles and really gave the trees a more full look! After I fixed my blunder, I went on and finished the entire scene with my colored pencils!
To finish off the front of the card, I adhered the kraft panel with double sided adhesive and the red frame with fun foam and double sided adhesive for added dimension. I also added my sentiment, which I had heat embossed in a gold twinkle embossing powder on a vellum flag. Finally, I added one last tree with the same inks I had used before on the inside of the card so it was completely ready to send off!!
So that was a very quick run down on my card, but for the full information, plus some tips and tricks, be sure to watch the video tutorial above! Don't forget to take full advantage of the Christmas in July sale too!! It is never too early to start your Christmas cardmaking!!
