Hello everyone... Helen is here today. This month we are show-casing tips and tutorial how to embellish your projects with anything that bling :)
Today, I would like to share with you a birthday card I made and how I embellished it with some gems for extra bling on the cake and the girl. I also have so much fun creating the background and watercoloring them. So, let's get started.
To create the background, I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and started randomly spraying the FireWorks! Ladies' Night Out sprays on it. Also, I sprayed some on my craft mat and smooshed the paper in to get more depth texture on the background.
Next, I cut out another piece of watercolor paper and put it on my Mini MISTI. I arranged the images from Let's Celebrate Clear Stamps on the paper, picked them up with the lid, and stamped them with Versafine Onyx Black. This ink pad is my favorite one to use when I work with watercolor paint and watercolor pencils.
I colored each of them with watercolor pencils and then pull out the colors with watercolor brush. After they all dried well, I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors. But you also can cut out the images with the Free SVG cutting files that comes with each stamp set you purchase from Joy Clair store.
Then I stamped and heat-embossed the balloon strings with Gold embossing powder, cut them.
After they all were cut, I started to put the card together. First, I cut out a black cardstock into 4.25" x 11", scored to make top-fold card. Then I added the watercolored panel on top of the card base with Tombow Mono Adhesive runner.
Next step, I arranged and adding each image on the card with Glitter Liquid Adhesive and 3D Foam Tape. After that, I added some of the clear gems on her dress, and some of the orange gems on the cup cake. I also added some glitter on all the images with Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush Pen (hard to capture it on the camera... sorry!)
Final step, I stamped the sentiment, stars and streamers on the card with Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. And my card is done. I hope you all can enjoy it :)
Before I go, I have a tip how to clean your stamps after stamping.
Before I removed them from the Mini MISTI lid, I sprayed them with Joy Clair Stamp Cleaner, and wiped them of with baby wipes (a cloth or paper towel work, too!). I love this stamp cleaner! It cleans all kind of dye inks of clear stamps. You should check it out :)
I hope you all are inspired today to create something pretty and share the joy with others in your life through your handmade. For more inspirations and update news, make sure to follow Joy Clair at:
