Hello everyone... Helen is here today. Spring is definitely in the air now here in Southern Ohio. So many flowers are blooming everywhere we go. And inspired but the colorful Spring flowers, I created this card that I wanna share with you today.
It's been a while I've seen pretty designs of the triple layer stamping on Pinterest and I finally had a change to try the triple layer stamping technique with the Spring Time Flowers Stamp Set and Hello Sentiments Stamp Set. And it is a fun technique to create layers on your card.
You will need 2 colors cardstocks to stack together. Here are the measurements that I used on my card:
White Cardstocks:
- 2" x 3-1/4"
- 3" x 4-1/4"
- 4 x 5-1/4"
Black Cardstocks:
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2"
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
- 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (fold for card base)
I used MISTI Creative Corner L Ruler to help me to stack and centered the cardstocks. Once I had them lined up in the center, I used temporary/removable adhesive to keep them together while stamping.
Then I started to stamped the flower with lighter color. For this time, I used Memento London Fog Dew Drop ink pad. I also used clear block to stamp, becuase it is easier to stamp in different angle. But I used my MISTI as stamping pad.
Once I was done stamping the flowers to create the background, I sprayed some of the Rose Bud FireWorks! Spray and Angel Pink FireWorks! Spray. Then I set them aside to dry while I was working on the flowers.
On a couple pieces of watercolor papers, I sprayed the Angel Pink and Rose Bud FireWorks! Sprays and then added some splatters using the London Fog FireWorks! Spray. I speeded up the drying with craft heater. Once they all dried well, I stamped the same flower cluster I used for the background stamping from Spring Time Flowers Stamp Set.
And then I fussy cut the flowers with micro-tip scissors. Using my flower shaping stylus, I shaped the petals. And I added pear gems in the middle of the flowers.
For the sentiment, I stamped the hello from the Hello Sentiments Stamp Set on a white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Ink pad and added some clear embossing powder on it, and heat set it for extra shine on the sentiment. Then I cut out the sentiment paper.
Now everything is dry and ready to assemble the card:
- First added the largest panel on the card base with adhesive.
- Add the panel on the black mat with adhesive and then add them on the card with adhesive.
- Next is the smallest panel and mat. Put them together with adhesive and add them on the card.
- Add the sentiment on the card with 3D foam adhesive in the middle of the sentiment paper, and use double sided adhesive (0.25") on both side of the paper strip to create the mound in the middle.
- And then added the flowers on the card with glue dots.
- Finish the card with more pear gems.
I love how the pearly and shiny look on the card as result of using the FireWorks! Sprays on the background and the flowers.
