Greetings friends and fellow crafters, today I am here with 2 cards I made with the Joy Clair Aztec Background Builder set. This is part of the February 2017 release. I have to say I love this set and it really lends itself to watercolor quite nicely.
The first project I completed was this 4x4 “EXPLORE” card. After positioning the stamp on my Stampoholic, I used Recollections Color Splash Ombre Ink pad to ink it up. I love how the Ombre look happens when blending from yellow to green with a bit of orange in between. I stamped this three times, and then the topper was complete. I stamped the Explore sentiment using Ranger Watering Can ink on a separate smaller piece of white and then layered that onto orange and then green to match the colors in the Ombre.
I layered the topper onto a piece of Doodlebug paper from their Flea Market set and layered that onto a piece of Orange 8x4 cardstock folded to make a 4x4 card. All layers are adhered together using 3L e-z Runner.
My second project is an a2 sized “Thank You” card. With this card, I first set the image up on my Stampoholic and then used Amuse pigment inks in Lemon Whip, Grass, and Bermuda. Because they are pigments they remained wet long enough for me to ink all 3 up, I then covered with Ranger Holographic embossing powder. Not only does it heat dry clear, but has a glittery shine to it as well. I then used WRMK pattern paper to cut the sentiment out with a wafer thin die. I ran that sentiment through my Xyron X and then affixed it to my topper. I then used a spatter spray to add a bit to the look. I then adhered this topper to an 8.5 x 5.5 piece of peach cardstock folded in half for the base. The topper was added to the base using 3L e-z Runner.
I hope you have enjoyed my post using the Aztec Background Builder from Joy Clair as must as I have enjoyed sharing it with you.
