Hello crafty friends, Helen is here to share a card using one of the four new stamp sets released this month, Merry Christmoose.
My card today is a one-layer card using heat-embossed watercolored resist technique. I recently have been practicing creating night sky scene background using distress inks, dye inks, and watercolor paints. I stumbled upon a video tutorial from a crafty friend, Ingrid Blackburn, on YouTube, and I tried it :)
For the card base, I used Canson Watercolor 140 lbs. First, I heat-embossed the trees and sentiment with white embossing powder. For the snow dots, I picked up the Versamark re-inker with small round brush and added on the card, then heat-embossed it with the same embossing powder.
Next step is adding water on the card. Using big round brush, I added the water all over the panel. This is called wet-on-wet technique. Then I added the colors one by one on the panel. I used Gansai Tambi watercolor paint for this card. I used my craft heater to speed up the drying :)
That's my card today. I hope this can inspire you to create a project and play along with our October Challenge that ends on October 30th. Winner will be picked and can win $25 gift card to Joy Clair Store.
