Away in a Manger with Steph Ackerman

Good morning Joy Clair fans.   Steph Ackerman here today and I've used one of the new stamp sets released this month - Away in a Manger. 

I stamped the image and phrase as one unit on white cardstock and then die cut it into an oval.  Leaving the die in place, I sponged around the image with blue ink.

Keeping the card simple, I stamped the star in gold ink directly on the card base.

Then I lightly sponged on blue ink.

Once the image was die cut, I die cut a large base from navy cardstock and added this to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

To finish, I added dew drops to the stars and the phrase.

Watercolored Happy Holiday Card

Hello crafty friends, Helen is here today wanna share another Christmas card with you. Today I am using the one of the new release stamps, Merry Christmoose Clear Stamp. This stamp set is super adorable!

 I created the background with my Tombow Dual Brush pens. I scribbles the red, yellow and blue on a piece of clear acetate and sprayed with some water. Then I dipped my watercolor paper in it. Gently I moved my fingers on it to make sure the surface of the card would be covered evenly with the colors.

Then I lifted up from the plastic acetate, and I used paper towel to remove some of the colors on the edges. I dried it with my craft heater because I did not want to wait :D But also drying with craft heater will make sure that my watercolored panel is dry well before stamping.

Next step is I stamped the tress on the panel, one is bit lower and other bit higher becuase I wanted to add some snowy hills on the card. I stamped the images with Versafine Ink Pad with MISTI couple times to give extra bold and dark for the silhouette effect. I stamped the sentiment also with the same ink and did it couple times. And then I heat set the stamped image again with my craft heater.

I added some snow on the trees with Uniball Signo White Gel Pen. Randomly I added some snow on the branches, imaging the snow will fall and sit on the branches. Then I decided to add some extra snow on the background with some white paint splatters using toothbrush and big round paint brush for bigger drops.

For the snowy hills, I cut out white cardstock shape like small hills and then using a make up sponge, I added some Broken China Distress Ink on them. Lighter on the middle and darker on the edges. Then I added them on the card with 3d foam tape.

My card is done :) I hope this will inspire you to create more Holiday handmade cards to share the joy with your friends and family.

Merry Christmoose

Hello everyone,

It's Donna here showcasing the new release "Merry Christmoose" stamp set.  I decided not to use the images, I love the bold script font, so I am just showcasing the "Merry Christmas" sentiment.  

Again, I have a clean and simple card.  I used some design paper and then added my sentiment.  I finished off the card with some enamel dots.

Away in a Manger

Hi crafters! Monica here sharing my next October project for Joy Clair stamps and I am proud to say I am using this awesome stamp set called "Away in a Manger" a beautiful stamp set for Bible Journaling and Joy Clair has the "Color by Faith" group on Facebook so be sure to check it out.  Christmas!  MY favorite holiday for sure is right around the corner and this set is perfect for those Christmas cards. Although here in Florida lately it seems to be 80 degrees on Christmas day so it does not quite feel Christmaseeee..

On to the card I made.  I stamped the image on X-Press IT paper and used a die from Spellbinders as well as Gina's Design dies for the card front.  I added some Stickles to the baby cover to brighten it up.

 

I colored the image with Copics and used Memento ink in black to stamp the image onto the paper.  I stamped the sentiment on a sort of snow bank die and used it for the bottom portion of the card. 

• Baby: E000, E00, E11, R56
• Clothes/Crib: B91, B93, B95, B97, B99, E30, E31, E37, E79

Merry Christmoose

Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today with a card I made with one of the new release sets called Merry Christmoose.

Don't you just love this goofy moose? I think he is hilarious! I colored him with Copics and gave him a black and white companion. Of course I did some masking. Originally I planned on two  companions, but I think it would have gotten a bit crowded.....

 

Added Washi tape and two enamel dots. I also went over the legs of Mr. Black & White with a white gel pen so you can read the sentiment better. I did not want to mask the legs - would have looked funny, probably....

Haunting Halloween

Hello Joy Clair Fans!  Lori here today with a Spooky Halloween card to share with you!  For my Halloween card I used the Spooky Greetings stamp set.

For my A2 card I started with Kraft card stock for the base of the card.  I took a piece of brown distressed paper, inked the edges with brown ink and added it to the base of the card.  I then took the skull border from the Spooky Greeting stamp set and stamped it with VersaMark on the top of my card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Next I cut out the skeleton in white paper and inked the edges with black ink and added him to the card.  Then I took the Haunting Halloween sentiment and the By the pricking of my thumb sentiment and stamped them with VersaMark and heat embossed them with the same white embossing powder.

So what do you think?  Is it SPOOKY enough for you??  I really love the skull border stamp! It adds just enough spookiness without being scary!

SPOOKY GREETINGS AND BIBLE JOURNALING PAGE

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you two different projects that I prepared for today's post. These are for two totally different celebrations and I will start by showing you the first one that's coming up. Take a look at my not-scary Halloween card:

I have to confess that I don't like scary Halloweens or images, which may be the reason why I love the Spooky Greetings stamp set. It is very cute and you can use all the images without scaring anyone. In this card, I decided to stamp some images with embossing and others plain with classic ink.

1. Cut the base of the card using natural card stock. The size is 5-1/2"x8-1/2" with score in 4-1/4"
2. Stamp one of the border images on the top using VersaFine Onix and cover it with clear embossing powder. Melt with the heat tool. I used the net image.
3. Stamp the sentiment using the same process.
4. In a separate piece of paper, stamp four witch hats using different colors of classic ink and cut these with the SVG files available with the stamp set or with the scissors.  I used the colors of classic ink Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Plant.
5. Ink the base with Wisteria Wonder ink before pasting the hats with dimensionals.

My second project is a Bible Journal page that I made to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I used the Away in a Manger clear Stamp from our Color by Faith Collection. This is one of the most beautiful sets that you will find, because you can use it not only for your pages, but also for journaling. You can also use it for cards or embellishments like my teammates have been showing us over the past days.

To create this page I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp my images and then I colored these with markers. For a special detail I re-wrote the words using a yellow marker and sponged the spaces with pool party classic ink.

For this project I used Memento Tuxedo Ink because I don't want to blur the black ink over the marker colors. Just a tip: be careful when you are coloring your pages with markers - put a white paper behind the page to avoid transfering the color.

Stamping Fun with Joy Clair

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. Today is my (LeeAnn) day over here at the Joy Clair Blog and I have 3 projects to share. Now, on with my projects. First up is a Bible Journal Page. Let me just say as soon as I saw the preview of this Under Construction set I knew exactly what verse I was using and what my page would look like. Now what would a post from me without a little backstory once in a while... Starting at the age 3 my daughters were involved in the AWANA program and church and I was the Cubbie Director. Those that are familiar with the program know that the acronym is for 2 Timothy 2:15 Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed, so with this wonderful Under Construction set I knew what to do. Quite Clean and Simple but a point is made. Hope you enjoy.

 

This second project is a Halloween card using the Spooky  Greetings set from Septembers release. A spider web embossing folder and a little washi tape made up the background for the cute little witches and the stamped sentiment Wicked. The dried up flowers is from a Halloween wreath flower spray I had in my stash. 

Last but not least I have a card made with the September Fall Planner set. A background paper that fit the theme attached to kraft cardstock, and a strip of ribbon. Stamping the Apple Picking sentiment and inking the edge affixed with foam tape, a few dew drops and this clean and simple quick card was complete.

Joy Clair's Merry Christmas and More

Hello, Joy Clair friends! It is Jessi from the design team. I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I actually had a little time to sit down and get crafty. That is always a great way to spend the weekend!

Today, I have a couple projects to share with you.

I am showcasing two of the newest Joy Clair stamp sets.

First up, is the Merry Christmoose stamp set:

This was such a fun card to create. First, I stamped the moose image onto white cardstock. The image is colored in with a variety of markers and cut out. To create the background of the card, I started with a piece of blue cardstock. The tree image is inked in green and stamped onto the blue cardstock. Once the ink dried, I randomly colored in snow around the tree. The snowy hill is made using a stitched border die. The hill is attached to the bottom of the blue cardstock. The moose is glued on top of the snow hill. I attached the completed scene to a festive print, which is then attached to the kraft card base. To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment at bottom of the card.

Next up is a project using the Away in a Manger stamp set:

Earlier this month, I used this stamp set on a Bible page. I wanted to try something different for my next project. I had bought some wooden pieces a few months ago and had no clue what I was going to do with them. I have seen a few Christmas ornaments made with them, so I wanted to give it a try. I simply stamped, the image onto the wood piece. I tried to color in the image with colored pencils, but did not like the outcome of the product, so I decided to re-do the stamping and chose to leave the image uncolored. I used one of the word stamps on the back side of the wood. I attached the festive ribbon to the top to complete the project.
