Greetings crafters. I am excited to share a couple of fun cards today that I made with the Fall Time Planner set released this month.
First I made a shaker card while my husband was getting ready for Football season to officially start. Lucky for me the team he follows is doing well both Pre Season and won their first regular season game... GO VIKINGS... SO... I decided to make this a shaker card, mainly because I had these cute football colored sequins sitting in my stash that were really wanting to be used. Have you ever heard a sequin cry... well I tell ya it isn't pretty.
SO... I took this really cool MAMBI background paper and using an oval stitched die just a little bigger than the football pattern, I ran it through my big shot and prepped the topper with adhering acetate large enough to cover the hole. I then added foam tape all around the oval shape, put the sequins on the football and placed the topper where it belongs.
After stamping the Football stamp I used a stitched square die to cut out the white and brown, adhered them down. Added 3 more sequins and my project was complete.
Nothing like memories of having been a Girl Scout leader for 8 years than making a card with Smores and a bonfire. I remember teaching my daughters and their troop how to build a campfire using thin and thick pretzels, raisins, chocolate chips, marshmallows, shredded coconut, and red hots. With a small cup of something to drink on the side with a swizzle straw in it. It went over so well that when my oldest was in 3rd grade she had to make a How To video for a project. Well she did the video making a real campfire in our backyard. Then while in class she passed the items out to each child to teach them how to build their own. That was the hit project of the day.
SO... I bring you a memory of that project... First I used my square stitched dies and my big shot to cut out 4 craft squares, 2 dark brown and 2 white. I pieced the smores together and put them aside. I then used GinaK Dark Chocolate Dye Ink to stamp Smores. I used Recollections Ombre pad to stamp the Bonfire and flames. The flames came from the IGNITE stamp set released in May.
I adhered the two home made smores to the card, attached it all to a kraft base and it was complete.
I hope you have enjoyed my cards today, and come back tomorrow to see what Steph has done for us all.
Until I am back again.... Happy Fun Crafting
