Time to Celebrate

Greetings crafty friends. Today I am here at Joy Clair blog with a card I made using  items from 3 stamp sets. However first, there is still time to play along with the Joy Clair August challenge - the theme is Inspirational/Color challenge and you have until August 31!

The first set I used is the Swirl Background, released in May, this is intentioned to be the top of a birthday cake. The candles are made using the flags from the Books of the Bible set, released in April. And the sentiments are from this months release Everyday Sentiments. 

First I used my Big Shot and cut the oval rope stitch shape out of adhesive card stock from Paper Studio. I then stamped the "candles" on white Georgia Pacific cardstock and used my scan n cut to cut them out. Once my pieces were cut, I used my Stampoholic nano to ink the background design on the "cake". The 'candles' are colored with my new Chameleon pens, love how it gives gradient color without much work. The sentiments are stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.

BEE KIND A COLOR BY FAITH SET OF JOY CLAIR

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a project created with the stamp set Bee Kind. This set is part of the Color by Faith collection and can be used in bible journaling and other paper projects because their images are really beautiful and have the perfect size for cards. Take a look at my card:

Creating this card was very easy:

1. Cut the base using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2"
2. Cut a second layer using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4 x5-1/2"
3. Ink the left side using distress ink and blending tools. I used the colors Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber of Distress Ink.
4. Stamp the big image of the honey comb over the inked area using Tip Top Taupe Classic Ink. 
5. Stamp the sentiment using the same color of ink.
6. Stamp the bee's using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink over other piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock.
7. Paint the bee's with Copic Markers and cut with scissors or using the SVG coordinated files.
8. Cut the decorated layer with a decorated frame die cut. I used the Cross Stitched Rectangle from Gina Marie Designs.
9. Paste a tiny border over the left side of the decorated layer using other color of card stock. I used Rose Red card stock.
10. Paste this layer directly over the card base.
11. Paste the bee's over the card using dimensionals or zapdots.
12. Enhance some details of the bee's using Crystal Effects.

Butterfly Kisses and Prickly Happy Cacti

If you haven't seen yet, Joy Clair is celebrating the 1st Anniversary and having a sale!!! Everyone loves that word don't they. The August 2015 release sets as pictured below are now $10 per set. Exciting!!! 

 

Today I want to share with you two cards I have worked on using some of our new sets, and even one of our sets released a few months ago. 

Using Butterfly Kisses, first I picked 3 card stock colors I wanted to use, and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. Once Dry I used my Brother Scan n Cut to trim out the butterfly. I ran the remaining section of card stock through my Big Shot with an embossing folder. Once that was complete I arranged the pieces on an A2 card base. used ATG tape to affix the pieces down and dimensional tape to pop up the butterflies. The sentiment was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black, and flowered sequin embellishments came from my stash. 

 

 

Card number two was made using the Prickly Happy and Grow With Faith sets. First I used green Ink It Up pigment ink to stamp out the Cacti. Once dry I used Versamark to stamp out the spurs of the cacti and the flower pots. I then used Recollections Gold embossing powder and my heat gun to set it. The pots were colored with my CR10 Spectrum Noir marker, the background was colored using TB1 nd TB3 from Spectrum Noir. The clouds were made with a marvy punch and one left white while the other was colored with TB5.

Joy Clair Butterfly Wishes - Thinking of You

Hello everyone,

It's Donna here, have you been celebrating all month with Joy Clair one year anniversary?  Have you purchased any of the $10.00 sets from their first releases from August 2015?  You still have time, hop on over to the store and get some of these wonderful stamp sets.  Here is an image of the sets and you can find all of these in the Joy Clair store.

 

On to my card for today, I am featuring the Butterfly Kisses stamp set which was released this month.  This stamp has so beautiful butterflies that you can use on your project for all kinds of occasions.  The sentiments in the set are very nice!  I love the script and looks beautiful on any card.  My card is clean and simple. I stamped the butterfly three times, stamping over the edge of my card with the first and last.  I stamped the middle butterfly again and fuzzy cut it out and popped it up on the card.  I colored them with wink of stella markers.  In the second picture, I tried to take a picture closer to show the shimmer.  I finished the card off by adding some twine from my stash.

Bee Kind

Hi everyone! Monica here sharing a newly released stamp set called Bee Kind which features some fun bees and a cute bee hive perfect for a nice fun summer card. 

I used patterned paper from The Stamps of Life I love how vibrant the colors are.  I chose to mat the stamped image against some plain black cardstock and then used a fun bright yellow patterned paper for the actual card front.   I used gelatos for the background and colored the bee hive with my copic markers and then fussy cut it out to adhere to the front of the card.

Sweet Butterfly Kisses cards

Good morning Joy Clair fans.   Steph Ackerman here today and I've used one of the new stamp sets released this month - Butterfly Kisses.  I love butterflies and this is a wonderful stamp set.

I stamped the butterflies on white cardstock and colored them with Clearsnap Smooch Accent Inks.  I mounted the panel on peach cardstock then adhered it to a navy card.  The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and then die cut.  After matting it with a larger peach die cut, I added it to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.  Don't you love the colors?

I created another card with this same set but this time stamped the largest butterfly randomly on white cardstock.  I also colored them with Clearsnap Smooch Accent Inks.  After matting the panel on black cardstock I placed it on a scrap of pattern paper which was also matted with black cardstock before adding it to a light blue card.  The included sentiment was stamped and die cut, then added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Bee Kind

Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today with some cards I made from the latest Joy Clair release set Bee Kind.

I heat embossed the honeycomb pattern and sprinkled Brushos on it and then spritzed with water. I added the flourishes and the bees. I also stamped the bees on vellum and on card stock and paper pieced them together. 

As you can see, I also added Stickles to the wings to make them sparkle. 

 

The stamp sets I used:

For my second card I also heat embossed the honeycomb pattern, but then smooshed distress inks onto the card. Let it dry. Added the sentiment - which is from the set Butterfly Kisses. I mounted it with foam tape.

The paper strip on the left is from an old envelope - you may want to check the inside of those envelopes you are getting - some of them have really nice patterns. Too pretty to throw out!

Joy Clair's Bee Kind Hoop Art

Hello, friends! It is Jessi from the Joy Clair design team. I have been enjoying making a variety of projects lately! I actually had to challenge myself yesterday to sit down and make a card! I actually finished my projects for today's post last week. It has been super hard to keep one of these projects under wraps! I stepped out of my comfort zone and so glad that I did!

My first project for today highlights the new Bee Kind stamp set. This stamp set is part of the Color by Faith stamp series.

When I first saw the octagon stamps in this set, I thought that they would be perfect for a background scene and a cross-stitch. It has been years since I did cross-stitch and decided to give it a go. (Even though I did straight stitched, not cross-stitches.) To start off, I stamped the images onto the fabric using a light color. I used two different yellows to outline the octagons. I used black on the outline of the bee's flight path. At the last minute, I decided to try to stitch the bee, so I stamped that image and stitiched away. I could not get the body to work, so I decided to use paper for the body. I stamped the hive on scrapbook paper. The hive is cut out and attached with glue. I was not brave enough to stitch the phrase, so I stamped it with black ink and left it as is.

My second project for the day is a Bible page using the new My Cup Runneth Over stamp set.

I love paper-piecing! So I decided to use that technique on this Bible page. I used a variety of prints for each cup. I used marker to color in the spilled coffee parts of the image. I added  a woodgrain paper on the bottom of the page to resemble a table. This was a very simple page to create, only time consuming to cut out the different prints.

Bee Kind hello card with Crystal

Hi there! Crystal here from crystalthompson.net with a honey card featuring the new August release from Joy Clair.

This card was fun to make with lots of stamping involved, so lets get started!

First I stamped the bee trail on the side of the card in black. Next I stamped comb in yellow, while that dried I stamped the honey house on to separate paper and water colored that. Next fuzzy cut and adhered on the card. I then placed the whole base onto a patterned paper. To finish it off, I added a “hello” die cut in black.

Joy Clair Bee Kind Stamp Set, Hello die, So Saffron SU ink and 3M adhesive foam.
