This month is all about water coloring. Water coloring can be done in so many different ways. I decided to use Gelatos on white cardstock. I could have used a paint brush with water to blend the colors, but I decided to use a baby wipe instead. I love the soft look achieved with the baby wipe.
Leaving the stamps on their backing, I inked them all with black ink and stamped them on the baby wiped background.
Since I was creating a horizontal card, the images did not fill the entire card. So, I simply reinked the stamp set, lined it up and stamped it again. Don't you love the mix of color behind the images?
The stamped panel was matted with 2 layers of cardstock, then wrapped with ribbon. I really wanted the colors to pop so I matted the panels with another layer of cardstock before adding it to the card. The sentiment is from Every Day Sentiments which was die cut and added to the card with foam adhesives.
My second card uses Izink - an acrylic based liquid pigment ink.
I placed several colors of Izink on a craft mat and placed the panels on the inks. I picked them up then ran them through the colors a second time. To use all the ink, I ran 2 additional panels through the inks so they are available for additional projects. These inks provide dimension so you get a different effect when stamping on the panels.
The Aztec Background stamps were again inked with black ink and stamped on the panel. Since I went with a Horizonal card this time, the stamps fit perfectly across the card. Because of the dimension, I got a more random set of images, providing a mixed media effect.
The panel was matted with 2 colors of cardstock and then added to the card. The sentiment is from the new Wild and Free stamp set and worked perfectly with this card. I die cut 3 layers for the sentiment and added it to the card with foam adhesives.
