Hello everyone. We are coming to the end of the month and sadly that means this will be my last post for Joy Clair. I have loved my time with these wonderful ladies and wish them all luck and prosperity going forward.
To create this project, I cut a sheet of Glossy cardstock down to fit the size of where I wanted to insert it in my bible and added a ¼” so I could score and tape down. I chose three alcohol ink colors aqua, watermelon, purple twilight and added them to a felt pad with a little bit of rubbing alcohol and pounced the colors around until I was satisfied. I did a little stamp surgery on a few of the included sentiments so I could create what I wanted to say and using my stamp positioner was able to line them up perfectly and stamped using archival black ink. Using the positioner also allowed me to stamp a second time to get a darker image. The crown on top is part of set and the flowers around come from Stained Glass Prayer.
The second is a bookmark using Stained Glass Prayer. Since I had glossy cardstock and my alcohol inks out I decided to do a little faux watercolor for this item. The image was stamped using archival black ink and colored with citrus, red pepper, sailboat blue, honeycomb, and lemonade alcohol inks. A drop of each color was placed on a DIY palette and with an alcohol filled water brush I filled in the image. Once it was all colored in I stamped one of the included sentiments in the center to remind me that there are times when you just have to STOP. Since this was colored with alcohol inks there wasn’t a long wait time for it to dry and I was able to mount it to a piece of black card stock to frame it. A hole was added to the top and twine was ran through it for a little extra color.
Don’t forget there is still time to participate in our Monthly Challenge. You will have the opportunity to win a $25 gift card of our store if you made something that you enjoy to create, a card!
